Good option for man in late 30s?
« on: September 12, 2021, 02:10:57 AM »

Hello fellow short/er folks, I hope this moment finds you well. Like many of you, I found this forum by Googling about ways to become taller. I found this particular forum by reading posts on Reddit.

I will be as to the the point as I can be. I am short, or what I consider short. About 5'8. I could have sworn I was around 5'9 but maybe I am shrinking, but either way, I was called short not too long ago and it bruised my ego  horribly.  I have never felt too short in my life unless I was around really tell guys (6+). After being called short, it dawned on me that a lot of things I encountered in my life were probably due to me being short...

I won't lie. This has destroyed me inside. I now have a complex and find myself judging everyone by their height.

I realize my only real choices are to except it or possibly change it. I do not mind paying decent money for a safe, effective procedure, but at 37, is it still a realistic option? I am healthy otherwise. I do not smoke or drink. No major health issues.

Thank you all for your help and advice.

Welcome to the forums!

Not experienced so take everything I have with a grain of salt. From what I've heard, it's difficult to lengthen maximum amount on one segment at the age of 37. You can probably lengthen 5-6cm (2 inches) instead of 3 inches. 5'8-->5'10 is your best bet.

It's a hefty price, $50,000 USD for internal procedures and external procedures are close to $10,000 USD in certain countries like India. Although there are lots of drawbacks to externals such as high chance of nerve damage and immense pain. Furthermore you will also lose athleticism, although not sure if it still matters to you at 37 though.

You must also have a few months to spare for lengthening, healing and physical therapy as well as consistent commitment to stretching exercises and a well balanced diet.

It's a big commitment, if you think it's worth it then I don't see why not go for the procedure.

^^^^ Thank you very much for your reply.

I still am pretty active. I lift and workout. I am not going to try to join the UFC anytime soon, but I still want to spar a bit there and there.

I do not mind paying upwards of 90K USD. As long as the operation is safe and effective. I also do not mind a long recovery as I mostly work remotely.

I have read Dr.Paley is the best in the world, is this true?

Definitely true, there are also few more respectable options such as Dr Mahioubbian and Dr Depiparshad depending on where you live but if you already have 90K I guess travelling shouldn't matter. Recovery should be good and operations with these respected surgeons are safe so you should not worry.

When I was in Germany, I met in total four patients who were older than you, a 63 year old one, two 40 year olds, and one 38 year old.

The 63 year old lengthened 9cm, his bones healed well but he had very poor function 9 months post surgery. The 40 year olds were at 3.5cm and 2.5cm when I met them, and whilst they were visibly struggling more than the younger ones, they could just about handle it. One is done lengthening and the other is on track to achieve his goal of 7.5cm. The 38 year old was with me in the hospital, he did have more bruising and more severe hematoms than others and also experienced more pain, but seemed to be reasonably well when they discharged him.

From my first hand observations, it's more difficult as you approach the 40s, there will be more suffering, but it is doable.

There a video diary of raaz he is also in his late 30's. Seems like he is recovering well. You can check his diary.

You're shrinking because your spinal discs are compressing. Everyone starts getting this in their late 30s. You could lose up to 3 inches depending on how old you become.

I'm 29 and I'm having trouble stretching/recovering.

Everyone gets there eventually, but I'd just aim for a less aggressive length. 5cm is conservative. 7cm is the max I've seen older people do.

I was 51/52 when I did 8 cm internal femur, it was a really tough and painful battle tbh, 3.5 years later I still haven't got full knee ROM (can get up to 138 degrees when pushed now), and squat has gone to hell (I can only do light deadlifts really). I found the last 3cm took forever at average around 0.25/.33 mm per day.
I still feel tension in the knee/distal femur even now.

I figured it's because of that and probably bone loss. I was hoping for 3 inches so I can be 6feet or at least close to it.

So you have had the surgery done? Do you have a diary up or anything? I would love to check it out. Thanks.

Hey, thank you for replying. Did you do your surgery in America? The possibility of not having full recovery scares me. I am not an athlete but I love to lift and stay active. I also have very flat feet which causes a bit of knee pain. I wonder if that would be worse after surgery.

Do you have any regrets if I may ask?

30 year old, did LON Femur in Turkey - 5cm. Recovering perfectly fine, I'd recommend everybody under 40 to do at least 6-7cm.

Painful as fk, but I am 100% willing to do Tibias as soon as I get the chance. Real talk.

Not trying to be an assh*le but I get these questions everyday. Read through my diary, look up what LON looks like. You'll never feel this amount of pain in your life, very few people ever do. Whatever neurological pain your height is causing you must be greater than your will to live. It's survivable of course, but it's unlike anything you've ever been through.

Also, if you don't have the self sufficiency to do the research I don't think this is for you; surviving Turkey with broken legs is not for the weak.

Your bones will not shrink significantly. Most of your height loss is from spinal compression. This is also why older people have back problems. Their joints are extremely stiff from loss of joint fluids.

My diary is my signature :)

I had my surgery in Europe and Australia, I regret the loss of flexibility, feeling less able to protect my loved ones/myself in dangerous situations, I regret the ongoing loss of agility and speed the and ongoing tightness/discomfort in my femurs, I regret that I still have a 2.7 cm LLD , and the fact that I still need another surgery for that LLD , and then another to remove the rods....
I regret the half truths and lies I told to avoid revealing my surgery, i regret the $50k+ I have spent thus far...
I notice more women show interest, but I am not sure if this has been good for my now disintegrating marriage of 35 years...

Why do you think that you are too old 37? Men are at their peak from 40 till 50 as males so I can't understand your way of thinking.
If money is not a problem for you and you can stand the pain then yes, it is a relatively safe surgery especially with Paley.
Go for 6-7 cm on femurs amd you'll have a respectable height without many risks, if you really want it. Because even your current height is not bad.

Exactly. There are crucial differences between Schwarzenegger and Duke of Weselton.Every girl is desiring to touch Schwarzenegger's muscles and figures instead of Weselton's bald hair.

A healthy male in 30s will recover faster than an unhealthy male in their 20s. Normal distribution any you could be anywhere on that. Other demographics play a role.

You won't notice any loss in height until older unless you have an underling pathology.

If you are healthy, don't smoke and disciplined you are not too old.

"Men are at their peak from 40" ? Lollllllllll. Stop watching those delusional retarded bald old idiots like entrepreneurs in cars or something. No men and women hit their peak at around 25 and 18 respectively. Although depends on the definition of peak but it's certainly not 40 or 50

Most 18 year old hotties don't date 30 year old men. Anybody who denies that is simply retarded and delusional. Please don't believe BS. Those are a bunch of single dad losers divorced, broken, sad, depressed and angry.

Only a 26 year old woman is going to date a 35 year old man. And 26 is not the age when a girl is the hottest. Most girls don't care about money as much as people think. For latching onto a man for his resources and getting married to him? Yes for sure money matters then. But for feeling attracted and sleeping with a boy there are many things that matter but the biggest factor is looks. Also yes love romance attention caring kind respects girls blah blah do help.

Yes the most tension by far is in the 8cm femur, unfortunately there were some post CLL surgery issues with my other knee so the 5.3 cm knee is very noisy and crunchy nowadays..

You've probably just graduated college, and 15/17 year old girls are still in high school. They don't pay rent or have kids, so of course they won't understand the importance of money.

I can still recall that in elementary, kids who were most popular with girls were those who excelled in PE, in senior high school it was those who rocked their SATs and made it to prestigious universities. In universities, it was those who got the best corporate internships.

Once girls enter the workplace, they start lusting over executives who are in positions of wealth and power. This doesn't always mean bugatti bags or lambos. it could be as simple as moving in together to someplace nice and not having to split the rent. Out of my past 7 relationships, there's one universal truth -- women love rich men not because they're rich, but that they can afford to be generous.

I have yet to meet any attractive female college grad who date men that are paid by the hour.

It is rare that I jump into a topic other than limb lengthening in this forum, but flirting with beautiful  sxxy women used to be my other passion before getting married :P (now I just play guitar!)

Women are in my opinion at their hottest when they are 26. I’ve said it in my early 20s, and I still think it. Now this is a generalization. I have met 40/50 year old women that put a lot of 20 year old to shame.

18-21 year old women are also attracted to men in their 30s.

It’s all about attitude and presentation, and it goes both ways.

All my patients will tell you about that conversation we have during the initial visit in office: limb lengthening will only get you so far. It is also important to work on body composition (work out diligently) gain muscle mass. Get a nice hair style (shaved head is also a style). Work on your confidence, on your speech flow. On how to be kind, funny without being overly cky. Learn how to be passionate about some topics.

it’s a whole package of which height is only a single component.
