Questions for Giotikas or Parihar patients
« on: September 04, 2021, 07:13:55 PM »

Hey mods! Please delete this if you think this is redundant, I thought it was a good post w/ useful questions to people but can delete this if you want

I'm considering Giotikas vs Parihar for LL/bone rebreak after LL/nail removal. I live within long driving distance of Conway/Assayag but he's more expensive than them but that is the other option I'm considering

I'm a USA citizen and am trying to figure out the minimum I'd need to pay for flights and consultations before the actual surgeries

1. For Giotikas, is the cheapest option for consultations to do one in person consultation in the UK? B/c one fewer flight I imagine

2. Or are there cheaper options for flight/consultation such as just one online consultation and then in person meeting right before the surgery?

2.5. What about for Parihar I guess you must do an in person consultation before the surgery right and he only does them in Mumbai?

3. Do Giotikas or Parihar do you need a consultation before bone rebreak? Can you save money on consultation/not need it if you were their patient beforehand?

4. Is bone rebreak with Parihar a bad idea/does he allow this? Or generally cheaper to do bone rebreak with a doctor who lives within driving distance of your home city? Ex: if you had a precise 2.2 in your femurs and did only r or 5 cm on them and wanted to get to 7 cm

Just trying to figure out the cheapest option for consultations/flights for LL. And someday completely unrelated to that, later cheapest option for bone rebreak and nail removal if you are an American in the D.C. area but not a Maryland (Assayag's state) resident

There's a cosmetic site page that Parihar has. He says that zoom consultation charges will be deducted from the surgery fees. Yes if you consult him online then end up going to someone else then yes it would go to waste.

Parihar seems cheaper than giotikas. Although you might want to avoid a third world country. For that giotikas is better.

There is absolutely no way your flight cost to India would be equal to the amount of money you'll pay more to assayag compared to Parihar. No way.

Yeah I've been trying to spreadsheet / calculate this out not sure

The issue is this:

For nail removal

- It is possible if I pick the right insurance that insurance may be able to cover some of it (unsure if this is possible, plus heard big range on what they will help with like 40-60% range max). The uncertainty is unsettling.

- I don't know how much Assayag will cost, he says that there will be a new surgical center soon that might decrease costs when I asked him:

- Not sure if Parihar or Assayag cheaper for nail removal

- I am within driving distance (within 5 hour drive) of Assayag. Though if I can't walk, I imagine I'd need to pay for transportation

For bone rebreak:

Its cosmetic so insurance is not relevant. But I'm within 5 hours driving distance of Assayag and so there is a possibility of being able to live at home and pay to be transported by car/wheelchair or something not sure how much that costs or if insurance can help cover the transportation (wheelchair into some kind of vehicle). Does insurance not cover that kind of transportation if the bone breaking was intentional?

But Parihar rebreak sounds like a good option. The only reason I'm considering rebreak is that if I want to do tibia/femur back to back w/ 1 month in between then I am a bit concerned. Paley I think limits patients to do 5 cm/5cm if they want to do this route.

What do you think for the best options price wise for rebreak and for nail removal?

There's a really good YouTube channel "break my legs". I think he was talking about how hr felt cheated about the fact that it cost him way more than 70k. there were additional costs which made it close to 100k or something. I think he went to shahab or assayag. You might wanna check him out. I like his videos.

I have no idea about insurance.

Do they charge for nail removal? Email them to know how much they charge. I used to think it's included in the price. Parihar replies in less than a day. I've been asking some stupid retarded questions for almost a week now lol. Divya ahuja(i think it's his assistant or sonething?)always replies within a day

Yeah hm... Divya ahuja hasn't replied to my email about other things in a few days, I'll just wait a bit more

Just trying to figure out if Parihar is a better option for nail removal / rebreak than Assayag who is within less than 5 hour driving distance from me
