usually insurance requires you to be on it for like 12 months before you can get a major surgery like this orthopedic surgery. i highly doubt you're gonna be able to do that. and if they don't require 12 months, then it's probably some shietty insurance that orthopedic surgeons who do limb lengthening won't even be in-network with and accept. and you being an international and not even a resident- no insurance in their right mind would accept your registration. this is not how insurance works, otherwise medical tourism to the states would be popular, the insurance companies have thought of every trick in the book and they arent stupid. f*ck the usa
anyways, what country are you from? surely there's a limb lengthening surgeon in your country that can help you.
Thanks for the reply.
No there isn't one, unfortunately.
They will lengthen children with achondroplasia but not this
and do not have the skills to correct a deformity at the same time.
I've travelled all over Europe and not found someone with the skills for this other than the American doctors - Paley, rozbruch etc.
It's to correct a few things at once and again the surgeons I've met haven't been able to even diagnose the problem and I've met and consulted so many now..........we're talking ........20-30
The Americans do treat this and seem to be the only experiences surgeons and have agreed to treat me
while I have to arrange cover for this and reside in us and would hope I could get help for this
