Precice and Stryde removed from usage?
« on: February 10, 2021, 11:51:59 AM »

Hi there,

I read an entry on the British government website as well as speaking briefly to Dr Guichet's office that apparently both Precice and Stryde are no longer being recommended for use. Does anyone have any further knowledge of this?

There are a couple threads about it: Nuvasive is doing an internal audit and Stryde has been pulled while it is done. It is expected to be solved by May

Are you a patient of Dr Giotikas? I just called the clinic.

I am scheduled with Giotikas in March but it looks like I will be rescheduled due to the audit. Most docs say by May/June it should be sorted.

Yeah, my surgery is scheduled for July, and Dr. Giotikas says the issue will be solved by then. I just hope it's true. Did they tell you anything new?

So I haven't booked any surgery anywhere yet. Being in the UK and awaiting a vaccine is pretty much keeping me static.

To ask, are any of you concerned about the risk of anterior knee pain with intramedullary nails on tibias?
