Choosing between Mahboubian and debiparshard
« on: February 01, 2021, 09:52:41 PM »

I plan to get femur lengthening next year, and live in LA. Can I get some help deciding between the two doctors. They have very similar prices. Dr. M has more experience but I see a lot of people (mostly old posts) questioning some of his credentials. Dr. D has better credentials on paper but has less experience and has had shots fired at him by the LL GOAT. Any input is helpful!

I mean if you already live in LA...

and if you read the diaries of IFS and Movie, I think you have a pretty obvious answer. Not sure why you’re even contemplating it lol

I’ll check them out, I was just getting nervous reading some old reports about some sketchy history.

If you're an American and there's a doctor in your city, and you can afford him, go to him.  The difference in ability between U.S. doctors is small because the standards are so high.  Bad doctors don't get board certifications in orthopedic surgery here.

LOL! Then why are there so many orthopaedic medical lawsuits in the US? ;D

1. Injured/sick people with complicated problems that are difficult for any doctor to fix.

2. If a less-than-desired outcome occurs, orthopedic patients are more likely to be alive, alert, and in pain or with a bad limb.  Contrast that with recipients of unsuccessful heart surgery who can't sue the doctor and widows who usually won't.

3. As it says in that article, orthopedic patients are more likely to have mental illness and be overly hostile/demanding toward the doctor, compounded by the fact that they don't have much of a relationship with their orthopedist.

4. Lawsuit-happy culture in general.

With the same skill, I would choose someone with more experience for sure..Experience matters a lot in surgery..My family is full of doctors(except me) and I know it for sure..So I would go with Dr M if I were you..

both are good but I prefer dr. D because of his education, background and principles.
