Hey guys, nowadays Ive really been preparing myself for my LL journey in 2021 and I've been weighing my options of LON femur vs Stryde femurs.
I've really been researching alot these days as I feel like I should be fully informed before I make a life changing decision such as this.
Here's my thought process so far on this:
LON
Pros:
●I can get 15k much quicker potentially allowing to begin as early as June 2021, saving me time.
●Saves me alot more money, the additional money can be redistributed to my investments making me more wealthy in the long term.
●Steel internal nails that makes me feel less "squeemish" ( compared to stretched out Stryde nails).
Ive seen some of the Stryde pics and posts and its a hit or miss for some of the users in terms of comfort. For someone slightly OCD like me, Id rather get the LON over and done with for 3 months and comfortably remain with fixed steel nails for 1.5 years.
Cons
●LON not as comfortable during distraction.
●recovery perhaps slower( even though technically I can start 3-4 months EARLIER which is way more enough time I feel.
●LON scars ( cosmetic surgery only an extra $1k which I can pay for, so overall cheaper still).
Stryde
Pros:
●Faster recovery during distraction (but I may start upto 4 months later, so was it worth it?
●fully weight bearing
Cons
●stretched out internal nail, could trigger my OCD regardless if its harmless or not, making the 1.5 years consolidation annoying AF
●expensive
●makes me wait many more months to get the surgery, possibly all the way upto November 2021.
So that was my honest thought process about this comparison, what do you guys think in your opinion?
