LL and MTB (enduro)
« on: December 18, 2020, 09:40:54 PM »

Hi All,

Just asking myself, if after LL it's possible to get back to the - let's call it - hard mountain biking (enduro bikes with 160-170 mm of travel) with moderate jumps (like a few metres), obstacles (rocks, roots). It's not downhill, but close to that. Of course not to participate in Enduro World Series, just for own pleasure. Let's say, 2 years after the surgery for ~6 cm of external tibia. What do you think, would that be doable? Extra protection for the tibias would be a must, no question about that. Just thinking if the new legs will endure the forces arising in such circumstances.

But better to change to another sport.

It all depends on the initial height, the longer the bone the more you may lenghten. Note that correct bone height may only be determined on long Xrays. From what I know, problems usually begin at 5 cm mark.

There’s no reason why you should avoid it. Your legs will be as resistant as before.
