Thank you!
The first night was pretty good. I woke up several times but was able to get enough sleep overall. thanks to the painkillers my painlevel is low. The pain that I have is especially on the hip where the nails were inserted. I hope that I can get up and walk a bit today when the physiotherapist comes.

the physiotherapist did some exercises with me. I could also get up and take a few steps with the walker. It was a great feeling. the pain in the thigh was comparable to sore muscles.

Congrats Erkan! Keep on posting!

Did Dr. Koehne mention how long the surgery took?

No but I will ask him. He did only say that the surgery went very well and that my bones are very „good“. ButI dont know exactly what that means:p

Great progress.

Have you got any supplements or physio plans to optimise tissue growth and recovery?

Hey guys!
My oura ring tracked about 7 hours of sleep tonight and I feel well rested.
i woke up about 3 times at night and I had a burning sensation on my left heel.
It came from the pressure  of lying down for a long time, so I stretched my heel out of bed and the burn went away.
Here is, what supplements I do take before I go to sleep.

Hospital gives me: pain med, Magensium
My own suplements before I go to sleep: ashwagandha, theanin and curcuma capsules, cbd+melatonin oil and Mirtazapin(sleeping aid prescribed by another doctor)

Today at about 6:00 am the pain level started to rise slowly (it was 10 hours after the last pain med).

About the hospital:
The hospital is quite small, there are no shops, baker etc but I spend my time 24h/day in my room anyway. the food is ok. I had the possibility to pay more for the room, which would give me more menues to choice from, but I went with the regular food.
the nurses take good care of me. I rarely call them, just when I have to go to the bathroom. I pee in a bottle so I don't have to go to the bathroom often.

Physio:
the first physiotherapy was easy. we pulled my feet towards my body while lying down, tensed my muscles a bit and raised and bent my legs and we made of course my first steps.

Dr Koehne also showed up. He also recommended an exercise and said it would be best if I already lay my legs close together and not spread them while laying, even if spreading them is more comfortable.
I follow the instructions exactly and do not try to do any more, as this could also be counterproductive.

Update
Dr Koehne was just here, and showed me some new stretching exercises. The surgery took about 3,5 hours. He explained that its not about to be the fastest, but to make it as minimal invasive as possible, so the patients have less pain, swelling, etc...afterwards.

4. day post surgery
today we practiced walking stairs up and down. Went well and I was able to take about 15 Stairs in both directions on my own (with the crutches in one hand, and the handrail in the other)

Hi Erkan. how is your life?  Can you walk without crutches or do you still need them? Are you still on pain meds or blood thinners ?

Thank you for all the kind words and support!
Right now Im at 2,5mm.
i m not writing long posts because english is not my main language  and it is therefore very time consuming for me. however, my sensations are very similar to how „Movie“ describes it. I really try to stretch a lot when my legs feel stiff and that helps very quickly!
if you have any questions I will try to answer them quickly! I will of course post if something unexpected  happens!

Reached +5mm today. The tightness is becoming more uncomfortable. Its getting also harder to keep my gait „normal“ I tried to reduce pain meds for a while but there is no way I could reduce them now as it would make streching exercises to painful. There is still a very long way to go (5,5cm) and as for now it seems that the harder part is starting very soon:/
