In my position, how much would you lengthen?
« on: October 14, 2020, 06:56:41 AM »

169 => 177 cm to be near 5'10" with just femurs and call it a day - seems like the best option which would definitely alleviate my neurosis and make me a respectable height
or
169 => 179 cm with quads - I would do this if I was closer to 176 than 177 in the previous option because I don't wanna be 5'9"
or
169 => 182 cm to be 6'0" with 13 cm quads - very tempting option - athleticism ?, screwed proportions with my already longish legs?, will be eligible to exist on Tinder (lol) and be solid tall where I live
or
169 => 174-175 cm to be almost 5'9" just to be safe - still a respectable height and retain athleticism but maybe won't make me VERY happy

Do femurs first, then if you're not satisfied do tibias a year later.

yeah, the best approach. Just want to know what others would prefer to do in this scenario

Also before surgery do some mockups. 13cm might make your legs look way too long.

Go with the first option. 1m77 is the same as 1m78 which is closer to 5'10. You are in a very good height range to benefit from this surgery to be honest. There is no point to waste your money just to get 2 cm more from 1m77. Not to mention of the downsize: worse proportion, greater risk of complication, slower recovery time...

Six feet and call it a day simply because of me being an idealist.

I would just do tibias and gain 6-7 cm and thats it.
Like I did.
If I had much money maybe I would have done another 6cm in femurs if I really wanted it but I would definitely begin with tibias.

Why would you recommend tibias over femurs if they have harder recovery and can handle less length comparatively? The cost?

Once I assess my proportions with finality with x-rays and if miraculously my proportions can support it I'll just see how it goes I guess  :D

Because external tibias is by far the safest and less painful way to do LL and tibias generally look better than femurs aesthetically after LL, if you don't do both segments.
So I truly believe it is the best way for someone who wants one LL or don't want only internals.

8cm femurs if natural proportions allow it. Over 8cm lengthening and you body proportions are weird. 8cm max. one segment max. do it, then forget it happened and live. one way to cure your neurosis. if unnatural porportions with femurs, do 6cm tibias and thats it.

I would choose 4th option

5'9 is average in the US, and won't hold you back. Going the extra inch to 5'10 while sacrificing your athleticism and long term health doesn't seem worth it.

I would choose compromise between option 1 (8cm) and option 4 (6cm), which is 7cm on femurs. Your height would be 176cm = 5'9.3" . It's safely past the 5'9" mark, because below that is the 5'8" range where it starts becoming below average height. Also, you'll retain more (or lose less) athletic abilities, is safer, and recovers faster than 8cm lengthening.

I'd do 8 CM femur stryde and call it a day, best outcome for athleticism and I personally prefer the longer femur look, you can hide it better by working out and wearing a size longer than you used to, for example I went from a shirt size small to M and I look perfectly fine now.

I'd go for 5-6cm in tibia first, just because mine are short as fk compared to my already short legs, then I'd go another 5-8cm on femur, if I was still unhappy with my height.

I got the same starting height as you. So I know where you are coming from, and I live in germany where everyone is taller than me, except for some girls.
