It seems that 3cm/1" is the magic number that in general you can get away with it the majority of the time.

So if you're 5'6", you claim 5'7".

But I see many actors regularly add 2" to their height.

Maybe you guys have some unpopular opinions?

EDIT: And also once we decide what height we want to claim, we should internalize it and believe that it's our real height.

Depends, the taller you are the more likely you're able to get away with. Say a 6' guy can lie convincingly by saying he's 6'2" or even 6'3" while a 5'5" guy can only lie and say he's 5'6" at best and is likely to get called out on it lol.

It's based on the average height of men in your proximity so in the prior example the avg. height maybe 5'10" hence taller you are than that height you can lie more, and so you have to adjust the lie accordingly and in general the taller you are the more you can get away with while the opposite applies the shorter you are.

I bet a 6'5" guy can lie and convince almost anyone that he's 6'9" and people will buy it.

Yeah, actually I wanted to hear more from real shorter guys perspective. But have changed the titled.

Anyway, an inch sounds reasonable. We need all the help we can get lol

I mean I think you better take the slight risk for a better image to save yourself from unnecessary rejections/embarassment from the very beginning.

1 inch, because that's almost how much taller you are wearing shores or sneakers.

Wise choice.

Do you mean on dating apps?

Actually I mean anywhere, but I guess online dating is where it counts the most.

5'6.3" midday, mostly I round down and say 5'6" but sometimes also say 5'7", I'm closer to that earlier in the day and comfortably 5'7-7.5" in shoes and most people lie about their height anyway so I should be able to get away with it. I also think someone my height would maybe get away with saying 5'8" because that's what I've guessed several guys to be until I noticed they were exactly my height - before I got good at guessing. So 1.75" is pushing it and the most but doable, 1.5-1" is what most people do and ok, 1" or under and you retain credibility and probably won't be called out.

When I thought and said I was 5'5" or 5'6", I got measured at the doctor and came in at 5'3.75-4" and a lot of my friends overstated their height - 178 (5'10") dude claimed 5'11" and 6'0", 189 (6'2.5") dude said 6'4".

Lying at my height is for the virtue of it sounding better but I don't like doing it and consider myself 5'6-6.5". A 2" heightfraud just isn't worth trying though unless involving enhanced footwear.

What you're barely 5'4" and you cite 5'6"/5'7" to people? Need cojones for that I'll give you.

I had no clue about height when I said I was 5'5"-5'6" (not 5'6"-7") and that was when I was 14 and was barely 5'4" really and indeed did get called out once on saying 5'6", now I'm consistently over 5'6" and say 5'6" or 5'7" depending on whatever I feel like saying.

I was 5'4" when I used to say that but I'm 5'6-6.5" now.

After reading this, now I'm beginning to feel tempted to do 2" heightfraud. Or maybe 1.5. :D

That being said though, I think you should just decide a number and internalize that number, by that I mean really believing that you are that height.

Otherwise, when you say it, you might come across as incongruent and you'll get called out for frauding.

Short people and tall people are conscious of their height, meaning they likely possess the knowledge of the exact figure and lie accordingly to convincingly fool others. So the ones that are likely to call you out will be those that are close to your height while being shorter or taller than average.

I always added 1 inch to my height.
Now I add somehow less as my morning height is 5.95 amd I say 5.10 as my height.
Up to 1 inch is ok. More than that is ridiculous.

If your morning height is 5'9.5" I'd expect you to measure 5'8.75" or something like that at night which is closer to what people see you as, especially if you lift a lot like I think you do

Unless by morning height you meant mid morning and not out of bed. Than that's not that bad. You lose your morning height quickly

I lose about half an inch most of the times durimg the day, unless I lift very heavy that day when I lose 3/4 of an inch.
That said, I always wear 1 inch lifts, not only to appear taller but because they help with my stiff achilles tendons. So most people see me like 5.10+ and noone ever sees me shorther than 5.10. One time I told a 5.5-5.6 girl I am 5.9 to see her reaction and told me that she truly believe I was about 5.11.

For some reason, I see myself as shorter than other 5.9 guys although next to them I am even taller than they are due to my lifts.
However, other people perceive me at least as my real height with lifts (about 5.10). Maybe because I am big and they think I am at least 5.10 due to that.
Otherwise I believe I look shorter than a slim 5.9-10 guy due to my mass, as you said.

Which celebrities do you know have added to their height? I remember Kevin Hart’s height on google was 5’2 for a long time and then it was 5’4 when I looked him up a while later again

Almost all that are less than 6ft. From Stallone to many many more.

Most people lie about their heights, actually nearly everyone does... one time even I thought I was 5ft3 but guess what I was fxcking 5ft1 without shoes on 155cm and 157cm with shoes on... and last time I check 2 years ago I was still fking 5ft2 with shoes on, I haven’t even grown 1inch in these past 2 fxckking years... most of my mates are short and look about 5ft4/5 maybe 5ft6 but they lie and say 5ft7 when their fxcking 5ft5. There are few who are 5ft9 or 10 plus who claim their 6ft ... when someone is shorter then you people often lie and say their taller and the person who’s shirt lies and says his few inches taller then he is

Oh, it's a different story for me. I didn't join the forum because I want LL, maybe I do maybe I don't. Regardless, I don't have money now so why stress over it? I joined for someone special. There are many great people here I connect with
