The question might be stupid, I don't think our arms get "shortened" while aging. But, I realised that there are very brilliant people in the forum who knows a lot about biology, not only related to LL. So I felt the need of asking it to the forum.

The reason I'm asking it is that I think Arnold Schwarzenegger's arms look short for his body on this video:

As a peak 1.88cm guy on his prime, he shouldn't have had such short arms though. Now he shrunk to 180cm. But still, he has short/below average arms I guess.
What do you all think?

No they don't. Bones normaly don't shrink however they can by osteoporosis.
Aged people shrink because of there spine, bad posture so weak muskles, spinal disks and osteoporosis.

I’m pretty sure Arnold Schwarzenegger is taller than 180 cm. You don’t shrink that much as you age. Here’s a photo of him standing next to Jason Statham, who is 178 cm:

Statham is 1.75.

And no, arms don't shorten, only the human spine compresses through years and that leads to losing some height.
Arnold's arms look a little short like it happens with all muscular men.

Statham is 1.75. Van Damme the same. But both wear massive elevator shoes/insoles all the time to appear taller. The same happens with Stallone.

I googled again, but there seems to be conflicting information. I think you’re right, though, because I just found a photo of him standing next to Jude Law, who is also said to be 178 cm, and Jude Law is definitely taller. I’m pretty sure Statham never wears elevator shoes, though. He seems to be very comfortable with his height.

BodyBuilder, I was talking about Arnold's forearm in that video. It literally looks as long as my forearm which I think I have tiny forearms. And his height at peak was taller than mine about 6 inches.

I think Schwarzenegger’s forearms look “short” only because of how muscular they are. Regarding his height, some sources claim he never was 188 cm.

But I agree with you that, at least in some photos, his forearms look a bit short compared to his height. My forearms definitely look longer than his, but maybe that’s just because they’re skinny AF. 🙈

I think it all comes down to what’s more important to you. Personally, I’d rather gain less height and lengthen only one segment (tibias) because I’d probably develop a new neurosis if my proportions were way off.

Well, I want to be at least 180cm which thank god I can hit it with only one segment legnthening, but I'd never lengthen tibias up to 7 centimeters. I stand on my toes, looking at the mirror and I look like I'm on stilts so bad. I look tall due to my slim build. If I don't consider my tibias, only pay attention to my overall height while sitting on my toes, it's nearly excellent. So, I'd enjoy being 5'11 flat. But, If i lengthen my femurs, my tibias will be short so.. I HAVE TO do 2 segments.. Otherwise, 5'11 is a great height though.

I think, on the femur lengthening, there are almost %0 risk of having a permanent knee pain. Since, in a manner of speaking, they put the nail through your butt (mostly). There's nothing to do with the knee.

Also I think disproportionally long tibias would cause less bio-mechanical problems than femurs. I cannot even thinking of running-walking properly with too much of a femur and a short tibia. That would be a disaster LOL!

But, I also think that long tibias look like you are on stilts now so, it depends on you tbh. If you have short tibias, ofc go for the tibs!

I agree about disproportionate tibias.
After 7.5cm lengthening on my tibias, they are definitely disproportionate. Especially when I wear insoles that make my tibias appear even 2-3cm longer.
But still they look good. It would.look better of.course with 7cm adder on my femurs but I am sure they look better than the short ones I had before LL or too long femurs if I did LL only there.

For internals it may be, I don't know. But generally internals is a much more invasive procedure and I think that with tibias external tsf is the best and safer way to go.
For femurs, internals only is the only realistic option.

It's crazy how Stallone never looks short, no matter who he's standing next to. He should be an inspiration for shorter guys, he's probably 175 at best yet make it look good with a well-built body and some height-boosting shoes.

i had a chat with big vic a while back
hes 8 years post op on precise tibias and reports no knee pain after year 2 (after nail removal)

i truly belive that if you are religious with your rehab you can definetly reduce your risks of chronic knee pain

With external Ilizarovs you can be completely mobile. But it is not the best sight, especially out of the home.

And yes, Stallone, Statham and Van Damme look really good althought they are 5.9 and less.
Stallone always wears massive elevator shoes-insoles and that make him 2 good inches taller. I don't know about the other two. I surely know that I envy Statham for his so beautifyl woman however.
