The difference between wearing lifts and actual LL
« on: August 13, 2020, 08:45:31 AM »

To all the veterans that have actually gone through with lengthening i have a question. Is having the actual surgery done less awkward than wearing lifts? I could only imagone so.

Well, I'm not a LL vet but I have a sense.

When you wear lifts, you basically are boosting your feet and legs at a higher point than you actually are related to, which causes gravity problems, not being able to control your legs well.
But If you do CLL, you'll just have longer legs. Literally almost the same as your old legs functionally, not even close to wearing lifts.

I think (hope) midsole tech elevator shoes are more comfortable in that regard. Do you think it'll be weird if I wear elevator shoes/lifts in college? If I get caught I might pretend I have an ankle flexion problem and they're orthopaedic insoles or something

I used to stuff socks in my timberland boots in college. it was uncomfortable but without them i didn't even want to go out

get the surgery + wear lifts in my opinion ;)

I'm afraid my legs will look ridiculously long if I get LL AND lifts and stuffing socks is not comparable to lifts since the compression will cause your gain to be in millimetres apart from an extra inch maybe from Timberland boots.

You have 81 cm inseam? There is a model that I know who is 188cm has 82cm inseam though. You must have huge legs

That seems to be it everytime I measure crotch to floor properly, just under 32 inches. They do feel longish/longer than average but not huge or anything still pretty typical and apparently I can get away with a max of 10 cm of added length. I do look taller in photos because of my proportions.
Interestingly despite my seemingly long legs I once sat on a flat surface next to a 174 guy and I was noticeably taller sitting down even when he wasn't slouching

If you add too much cm in Cll, it will look more awkward than elevator shoes.

Also,

If you get tibia surgery and wear lifts = it'll be obv as hell. It's going to boost your tibia like +10cm LOL! (surgery and lifts)
If you overlengthen femur like  8 9 cms, you SHOULD wear lifts to make your tibias appear taller, so it won't cause any problems, in fact it's going to be better aesthetically.

So, femur surgery = you should wear lifts. (you MUST wear them if your tibias will be much short for your future femurs.)
tibia surgery = wear flat shoes

I agree, wearing a lift in femur lengthening will make the tibia longer, so it looks better

Lifts are "fake height", but LL is "real height". My family already knows I want LL , so when I got a pair of shoes that gave me more than a 1" height boost, my mom mentioned how it was "much cheaper than surgery". It never really helped me feel better about my height.

Yeah there really is no comparison.  In terms of how you feel and move, LL is almost as good as being naturally that height.  Lifts just don't cut it.

90cm inseam at 181cm? It's insane, Is it even possible?
