8cm femurs vs 10cm quads
« on: August 06, 2020, 05:05:48 AM »

Which looks better?

Femur: https://imgur.com/a/vi8QmkG
Femur and Tibia: https://imgur.com/a/svaxf1Q

I'm starting to think after seeing the mockup without clothes 10cm is too much for me, since I supposedly have proportionally long legs. I've kind of known this for a while since I remember having legs as long as my mom's at 12~13 but didn't become taller than her until 15.
My dad said that I "looked like Plastic-man" after adding 10cm, and that was the mockup with clothes.

However, I want to make sure that I'm a good candidate for 8cm femurs.
I don't want to have to "hide" anything, I want to look fine regardless of how I present myself.

Ever since I heard of LL I always thought I had short tibias, but I remember Dr. Paley saying that lots of short people think that they have both short legs and short tibias. However, I have looked at other mockups and noticed other people with worse proportions. So I'd like to know if I'm a good candidate for 8cm. I hope to be able get the body and height I want in a single surgery.

P.S. If I ever do another mockup I will make sure the real Hobbes the Dog is in it.

I literally think 8cm femurs is the best possible proportion. Tibias look very long in every photo. You should take a photo at neck or rib height. Tibias look way too long

8cm femurs is perfect for you.

I have good news for you. You have long tibias. 8cm femurs perfect for long Tibias. You do have a smallish torso. But I can't wrap around how long your tibias are.

10cm is a no. Just no..

That's great news actually. Interestingly, my siblings have even longer tibias and we're all very similar heights. I think my little brother has longer legs than me.
(As you probably already know, my siblings are 15 and 19 and neither suffer from height dysphoria, but neither of them have experienced as much height-related "trauma" as me)
I've also heard people say Asians have short tibias.

Looking forward to being able to complete my goal in only one surgery. (Or two, if you count the removal, but that's not as big)

P.S. Funny story, My siblings and I have been playing Minecraft with friends every night lately and a few days ago I started calling the Strider "Precice Strider."

Me: I just got some Saddles so now when we get to the Nether we can ride the Precice Striders.
Little brother: Why do you keep calling them "Precice Striders"?
Me: Do you know what the Precice STRYDE is?
Little brother: No, what is it?
Me: Google it.
Older brother: Is that the thing that makes you 3 inches taller? (Spoiler alert: it is)

Oops. It seems that your legs are exactly (+-) the half of your height. It means that they are of ideal length, so any limb lengthening will obviously make them even longer, which may affect proportions. It may still lie within standard deviation, though, so I advise you to carefully calculate your proportions outcome.

Honestly, I'm starting to think even 8cm is too much for my leg to body ratio. I might look worse than the guy on Dr. Paley's old website.

What do you think?

No matter what you do, your torso is small. Either get the height or remain with height neurosis I guess

I just noticed that my starting leg to body ratio might be close to the Paley orange shirt guy's after he did 11cm.

I'm fine with having longer legs, but I don't want to have abnormally long legs. Like if it would be extremely obvious if I was wearing a suit and tucked shirt. I don't want to have to constantly hide my LBR, it's a permanent body modification after all. I want to know if at least a good number of people without medical conditions would have legs at least that long.

If not I might try 6.5cm or 5cm, but I really hope I can get to 8cm without looking too disproportionate. What do you think?

Proportions is something you'll have to sacrifice for height.

Personally 8cm femurs looks fine to me.

Strictly saying, it depends on your initial proportions.

You’re already on the long legs side, seeing your first pic i thought you were taller than you actually are.
I think 8cm is a bit too much, 5cm would be the best choice. Better proportions, fast and overall better recovery. You’ll be happy for sure.

With 5cm and no growth that means 5'7 morning, 5'6 night. Not sure if that's enough for me. Only if I grow another inch I would reach my goal with 5cm, which is unlikely.

I am even shorter than you and short legged but I decided to go just for sligtly more than 5cm to keep proportion and fuction. 5cm is a lot. You’ll not regret it, 170cm is a Great height.

Soon I'll be doing a series of mockups of 5cm, 6.5cm, and 8cm. They will be in these categories:

1. What I usually wear.
2. Wearing a "suit" and tucked shirt.
3. Wearing a similar outfit to the Paley orange shirt guy.

And of course, the real Hobbes the Dog will be there.

Not really, I'm just 1.5 cm off of 170 cm (exactly 170 in the morning) and it's terrible.
