SITTING HEIGHT
« on: July 15, 2020, 12:39:42 PM »

Hello.

I've searched for a decent amount of time about any kind of resources related with sitting height to height.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good answer.

Does anyone know what is the average sitting height in general (google says 85cm which is bulls**)

And the average sitting height for 6'1 people?

Everyone is different mate. I have a sitting height of 88cm at 164cm height. My uncle who is 6ft1 has the same sitting height as me. My college mate is 165cm and has a sitting height of at least 5cm more than me. You are overthinking this. Besides, having longer legs in comparison to your torso length actually makes you look taller than you are so think of it as a good thing.

Damn guys, I'm a weak 174cm and my sitting height is 90cm.
Thanks for the answers btw.

I just wanted to know the average SH for 6'1 people since I want to be 6'1 and I have concerns about it.

Interesting topic.  From my own experience, I will say this: my sitting height is 92 cm and I have at least 3 friends with a height of about 185. And they are all taller than me when we are sitting.  Feels like 3-4 cm, but i didn't measure.
Also, I found a study among Czechs - https://www.academia.edu/37789089/Anthropometric_characteristics_of_the_young_Czech_population_and_their_relationship_to_the_national_sports_potential
Look at figure 3. With a height of 185, the average sitting height is 52.3%.  185 * 0.523 = 96.755 cm.
I think the average will differ depending on the nationality

Literally nobody cares about sitting height. What you should worry about is wingspan, now that is important.

Literally both are important for me,

But my wingspan sucks. Because even though my wingspan is around 180cm, It's because my HANDS ARE F*** HUGE.
Not because my arms are tall, so It kinda makes me feel sad.
My lower arm is literally tiny (at least that's how I feel)
