gain height from bowleg correction

Do you always gain height from bowleg correction? I remember on the old forum someone gained 2.5cm just from correcting bowing. thanks

Yes, you always gain height.  The amount depends on how severe the bowing was.

thanks for answering. I have pretty bad bowing. If I could get a couple of cm from correction I would probably be satisfied with that! My ideal situation would be to see Donghoon Lee in Korea.

The hypothenuse of a triangle is always longer than the adjacent side :)

The height is the adjacent side, the actual bone length is the hypothenuse.

the more severe your bowlegs, the more height you gain from straightening.

There are multiple ways to correct bowlegs and you need to pick the method that suits you best. In patients who want to gain height in addition to bowleg correction, we routinely achieve more length by using gradual correction with external fixation.

What about slight knock knees? Can you gain some height fixing slight knock knees

the short answer is: yes but it will be negligible. it’s a simple calculation that needs to be made when seeing the long leg xrays.

The long answer is: if you use external fixation you can lengthen at the same time.

Can't even 1.5 to 2 cm be gained through kk correction on avg?
