Sleep and Stunted Height

All these years I believed that my sleep deprivation and depression have caused my height. And sometimes I wish that I was wrong.

I'm surprised this never been discussed seriously. I found some research papers about this subject and it seems that they are not sure.

Seems pretty straightforward to me. It's been discussed at length here too, and it's been argued that HGH production is concentrated in the early hours of sleep:

So if you indeed slept "0-2 hours" during all your teenage years, you might have reason to worry about stunting your mental growth more than your height.

Obviously sleep impacts your height. If you sleep less then you get less GH pulses. GH pulses mostly come at night during REM sleep (usually dreaming state, though many do get in REM sleep without dreaming).

But I doubt it stunted you more than an inch, two MAX. Definitely does influence your height, but nearly nothing compared to getting   genetics. Genetics determines basically the majority, barring except of course a lack of nutrition or malnourishment. It might've kept you from reaching your genetic potential, but don't act like if both your mom and dad was 5' 2 and you slept all day you would be 6 foot or something. You probably still would've been 5' 5 if you slept like a baby all 18 years of your childhood. Genetics overrides everything. You get mfers in Africa being 6' 5 with like no nutrition and lookin like twigs- they aint tall cuz they got the secret sleep schedule or food, they call cuz their DNA be tall.

Can you provide me the link to the discussion?

I can fix my mental problems easily but not my height.

Show some sources then. The sources provided here either conclude it's inconclusive or that there's hardly any relation to sleep and height. Provide us with another source.

Even 2" would be huge. But my father and sisters are all tall. Maybe not 6", but 5'9" or 5'8" would feel a lot more right than now.

90% sure you're just trolling now. The first article mentions sleep in no place at all. The second link says sleep "could" affect growth and a person's growth "may be affected" by not enough sleep, without referring to any study. Lame.

There is a link in my post and lol at your sentiment that you can fix your mental problems easily. All of your posts show you haven't even started to work on your mental issues, and it's a process that can take many years.

I once knew a guy from elementary school. He was well smaller than average kid. I remember his parents making him take a nap everyday, go to bed before midnight, drink milk, etc hoping that he won't end up short. They were even jealous of me for being average sized.

Today he is way shorter than his father who is pretty short as well.
