Fat embolism And Pulmonary embolism
« on: October 27, 2019, 03:44:41 PM »

'Fat embolism' and Deep vein thrombosis which can lead to 'Pulmonary embolism' are the two biggest complication of CLL that can result in the death of the person. So for how long is the risk of those two after surgery? Like 1 week , 1 month , 3 month? And how likely it is to occur? Any study/research?

With precice, Paley maskes you take blood thinners until you are lengthening. So it is theoretically probably possible until then.

Paley prescribes blood thinners for patients only for 1-2 weeks after surgery, perhaps less than this.  After that, patients will take asprin for another 1-2 weeks.  That is it. So I guess the first 2-3 weeks after surgery is important time to monitor any symptom of fat embolism and infection.  After that, if nothing happens, you will be safe from those risks.

Paley used to prescribe blood thinner longer period when he was doing Precice
So it’s depends on the type of nail or surgery you get
You may need to take blood thinner for a few months

Why don’t you have surgery at hospitals which offer inpatient packages throughout lengthening if you are so afraid of those things
The best choice I can think of is Donghoon Lee hospital in Korea
They have very nice facility and nurses come to check you everyday and Dr Lee comes to inpatient ward regularly throughout your stay
