Most common specific psychological reasons doctors turn down patients?

Ex: for Mahoubian, Giotikas, or Paley

It sounds like for most, only extreme things would be a problem, though for Janet Conway it seems she is looking for a very specific kind of patient (is suffering from distress from height but is still very strong emotionally) and she has patients do a battery of psychological tests.

I think they care about two factors:

1.  Instability.  Will you have some kind of mental breakdown during lengthening that will disrupt the process?

2.  Benefit.  Will you be just as miserable with your body after the surgery as before, and keep trying to get more and more surgereis?

Do doctors bring up medical records from the past to evaluate this....

Your surgeon will have a medical history questionaire for you to fill out.  If you say "yes" to anything about mental health issues, they'll probably ask for more information and might refer you to a psychiatrist or psychologist for an evaluation.

This will definitely vary from clinic to clinic, though.
