Hey bonestretching! Would love to hear an update from you! I hoping things are going great for you and your business is booming?! Also, how's your physical stats? Flexibility and strength? Back to pre-ll stage? Is there any lingering pain, tightness or numbness? Are you able to run/jog/walk normally? Is your gait back to normal like pre ll? Hoping the best for you man!

My journey continues...

Well folks first off I want to say my Doctor has been great. 100% Recommend if on the West Coast. Man is on top of it.

So, I myself was one of those guys that waited a bit longer to have my stryde taken out. I waited approximately 2 years. A combination of safety and paranoia. Doc did reccomend I come in and take them out, and I just ran with the risk on my own.

Any ways, I had my Rods take out a while ago, and i got the lysis and hypertrophy around my left juncture point.

I feel no pain, can walk on both legs (full weight bearing) BUT....

Doc has me walking on crutches for 6 weeks as a precaution post rod removal for my left leg.

lol it is a little tramatic to go back to crutches 2 years later, but hopefully it is for the best.

I figured I would update my journal incase any other "stryders" go through the same.

Couldn't he tell that you had lysis BEFORE removal?

Well in this case bro My legs were perfect, then I had to take off for about a year out of country, when I came back I received the x-rays and found i was hit. Doctor actually asked me to get them out around the year+ mark, so this one is on me.

Curious if anyone else has had to deal with this, and what their prognosis was.

Well I guess this subject matter is not too interesting, but I will update anyways for those who may need it.

Went in for my post surgery appointment, had stitches take out, legs feel fine, BUT.. of course due to the stryde side effects, Doc has me on crutches for 5 more weeks (hopefully). Will have an appointment again at that time. Will update you guys at that time with results on healing (post rod removal here). So here it goes.

If anyone has been through this process let me know!

God speed and walk tall, you LL GIANTS!

Sorry to hear that you have to use crutches. I’m sure you were expecting the process to be all done after nail removal. Otoh, with the incisions and scars still healing, and recovering to a normal walk with no stiffness, I don’t expect to be back to normal for a few weeks after nail removal anyway. I think having crutches isn’t that bad, aside from maybe being awkward at work if you’re not working from home. Best of luck!

Thanks for the positive words brother, yea you will be back in action in no time after the rod removal wounds heal (week or 2). I get feedback from research saying, your bones will be fine in about 6 weeks post stryde removal, i guess it is just that "uncertainty". But hey, I went through it for 6 months, when I put the rods in, I guess 6 weeks should be a breeze right? lol

God speed Giants.

Thank you Realistic for chiming in on this.

Not too much hard data on this, but that is what I am hearing from doctors as well (including mine). I assume the lysis just fills in (shrugs).

I can walk fine, can even bare full weight, it is what I dont see that has me in crutches right now as a precaution.

Will update you guys.

Hang in there bro! How strong do your legs feel? Mine are back to normal and I really want to go to the gym, but I know I'm not supposed to lift heavy things, squat, or run. I can't even carry any plates onto a barbell to bench press lol

I hear ya - they feel normal honestly. No pain at all, can walk full weight no issues.

Doc just has me on these crutches for 6 weeks (2 more weeks to go), bc of the Stryde lysis.

Been doing upper body with machines, and dumbells at home.

This part is driving me crazy.

Well folks, my appointment is in 6 days (this Friday).

We will see what happens to a person with stryde based lysis, after the rods are taken out. I will update you all.
