Ok, I hit 6CM about 10 minutes ago.

With that said, i have 2 more weeks to go assuming I LL at a rate of 3x per day.

Tramodol pain killers are key during this phase, they make the pain bearable.

In addition, i notice that if I stretch hard prior to each LL session, it really makes a difference in the tightness. Stretch Stretch Strech.

Finally, walking, I been doing away with the cane lately and just forcing my self to waddle (i will carry the cane just in case), everwhere I go. I notice this is speeding up strength in my legs, keeping legs loose, and helping with my APT.

God speed guys... 2 more weeks is what I need here.

Peace and love.

If you didn't have family to help you carry your stuff back, what do you feel you would do with it? i'm curious what people usually do when they fly out to North Hollywood. Some stuff I imagine might be a bit heavy and difficult to throw away by oneself.

All just keeping you updated on new things, as I promised during this last month.

As I approach 6.5CM (within 2 days), i notice that my lower back feels weaker, hence pain. I find my self swaying back creating an arch in my back that makes it sore to stand or walk. Also when I sleep now, I have to lay a pillow down to raise my pelvic, or the arch is uncomfortable.

Wanted to see if any one has experienced this, and how you got passed it. Is it normal etc?

Thank you all!

I always slept with a pillow under my knees to keep my back straight since day 1 after surgery, that's what I'd recommend, I feel the duck ass too and how my lower back get's sore, part of the process. just finish lengthening and stretch as much as you can then during your recovery your muscles will be able to catch up

Hi CPL, one of the reasons I chose Dr. M, is because he offers IMO the best rate, while leveraging the best USA medical tech has to offer.

To put it frankly, he is not the most expensive, and he is not the "cheapest" either. Based on my experience watching other LLers, you definitely get what you pay for. Which is why I chose him, you pay for the best.

I chose Mahboubian, because of his history (been in the LL game i think close to 15+ years), and his response time. He replies to my emails same day (even on Sunday), and offers the brass tax, based on what you are experiencing, the risk factors, and recommendations. He will push you to your full potential. What got me as a client, was there was one user on here who considered stopping at 2.5inches,  he could have let it go,  but instead Dr. M pushed him to go 3. He made that recommendation based on the patients current condition, and knew he would be able, and would benefit by that final .5. One last thing, is there surgery crew are perfectionist, check mine and other x rays on this board, his alignment of the rods are perfect.

PT is not covered, however you get to choose your own PT near you (big +), the PT and him communicate, and to answer your question, insurance covers PT (you only pay co pay, which for me is 30 bucks a session).

Hope this helps!

All:

I couldnt sleep all night, so i ended up taking a ZZquil at 4am. I couldn't sleep bc my brain would not get tired. I popped a Zqull and woke up 8 hours later.

With that said, woke up , legs are super tight, achie when i walk. I can tell I am going have to fight for this last QTR inch. Goodness gracious.

Once you're through phase 1; it will all be downhill from there. Each week; you'll notice a dramatic improvement, especially after week 2-3 post LL phase is concluded.   You're going to be an unstoppable force once this is over and done with and by 2020 you'll be able to really enjoy the fruits of your efforts.

KEEP.GOING.STRONG.

Final stretch from today to Tuesday.

As of today I am moving to .66 per day as my legs just cant keep up with the 1mm per day any more. Just way to tight, and achie. I am just not that limber tail back striding down the field for 80s yards (like i used to be in my late teens - lol).

Hope to reach my goal by Tuesday (appt with doc on this day).

Its all mental at this stage.

God speed.

ALL DONE - Doctor measured me out  today, and I just about maxed it out.

Now it is time to focus on healing. Doc said callus looks good, and a bone bridge had already formed (GREAT NEWS).

Thank you guy for your support through this process.

Hello all

I am probably a week out after the lengthening phase, I notice I am able to get around a lot better, but the soreness, aches and pains, have not seemed to subside yet, especially at night (which is actually keeping me awake now).

Can anyone share there experience on when they noticed significant differences and improvements after the LL phase, and also, can you relate to what I am feeling here?

Thanks all

Hi Bones,

You will start to see dramatic differences begin to unfold at about week 3 and 4 post lengthening.  In the first couple of weeks; you will notice small baby-step improvements but you're still going to endure some of the inertia kind of pain from the CLL process that your legs have just undergone.  Hang in there;  you're already 1 week post lenthening. Just wait until you hit week 2 and 3.

Super interested in your recovery post lengthening! Good luck!

@IFS: do you think it’s far-fetched to be back to 80% normality in a month post-distraction?

I’m 6 days away from finishing up, thank god. I’m tight as can be, but other than that it’s as smooth as ever!

Hopefully your walking in no time brotha!

Hi EZ,

I think it's very possible to be walking 75% or better in 1 month post distraction.  In my case, it took about 2 months for me to reach that 80-90% normal walking mark.  For me, it was month 6 and  7 where I really started to feel comfortable.

Finalize week 2 of the post LL process.

It is interesting, I do notice I am walking more freely, without the sharp pains, however 2 weeks after I notice more of light dull, achie pain.

Sure it is just bc i am super tight. Any ways... will keep on with the PT, and exercises I hear once you hit the 1 month after mark you really notice the difference. Awaiting that time.

Where in general are you most tight?

Has it gotten better in that area/areas post lengthening?

Wishing u the best bro. Those achie pains are just going to fade away slowly as you put your body thru more wear and tear by walking, everyday life, etc. wishing u the best!
