HELP - Where would you go for tibial lengthening?
« on: September 27, 2019, 09:06:04 PM »

1. You have a $30,000 budget.
2. You have a hip implant. External fixator is not an option because of potential infection. You can only use internal nail
3. You have insurance. They will cover your hospital fee.
4. Insurance will cover the surgery fee for your right tibia because you have deformity there
5. You are looking for a doctor who is really experienced with tibias

WHO do you see / What do you do?

A limb reconstruction surgeon
someone who has done a fellowship in a big name hospital where they do lots of deformity correction. Ideally a surgeon who is ilizarov trained, even though you want a nail as they will have the in depth knowledge of bone growth and consolidation etc.
