Little problem
« on: September 10, 2019, 03:01:15 AM »

Hey guys. Im in 12 weeks consolidation now (10.5cm, still duckass) and Ive got a little problem.
Everytime I walk I feel like my right leg is shorter than the other which makes me swing a little bit down to the right side. Is it due tight it bands or what?
Can somebody help me out?

Hello WT, I think to provide you with any feed back it would be helpful if you write some more details.

- WHich segment did you lengthen (i am guessing femurs as you mentioned tight IT bands)
- WHen was the last x-rays done, has the x-rays shows both lengthened bones to be be equal?
- where did you do your surgery, etc

Yes , the x-rays show good callus growth and the Length on both sides are equal.
The only problem is that I still tend to swing to the right side a little bit

Sounds like you are still very tight in the rectus femoris muscle. Your hips have a slight contracture and it's causing partial flexion. You'll need to free those hips for the sway to stop 100%. Keep working on PT and hopefully in coming weeks you feel better.

The walking is a work-in-progress, but it's getting better, im still on crutches but I put my weight more on my legs now and use crutches only for balance. The difference in height between the left leg and the right leg, due to IT band tightness is my problem at the moment. I cant walk without a slight drop on my right  side. Hope it will improve

Give it some time, it takes a few months even a year till your muscles loosen up again. Im almost 2 years post op and i still feel tight some times in the mornings. I did 9cm btw. 4cm tibia and 5cm femur.

I did 10,5 so it will probably take me little longer.
The good thing is I can feel its getting better.
