They are weightbearing. Why do you give false information?

i dont get it why Dr Betz keeps using his betzbone
is it because the nail is very cheap and he keeps the price of surgery very high, therefore he gets very big profit?

Where did you take your information from.
There were so many Betz patients who did not use the LL Forum and moved on.
I‘m in consolidation and one of his patients. And I didnt open a thread.

I see Betz patients  day by day as a Physical Therapist.
Haven't seen complications for the past years.
Don't know who brings the idea up that Betz patients have complications all the time....

He and his wife have a limited company which is the manufacturer of the 'Betzbone'. Therefore he makes much more money when using it. And in case of malfunction he simply keeps the evidence and doesn't follow the regulations. So basically if something bad happens the patient has no safety since surgeon and manufacturer are one and the same.
Of course he still sends his trolls from time to time here to make some advertisement.

99% of Betz patients  are not on this forum. Should that be a proof for a high complication rate ??
Most of them just practice stretching and exercising day by day instead reading useless recommendations on a forum from people where never had done LL.
Beleave or not, I don't care...

You make a lot of money with Betz patients. Therefore you have an incentive to advertise for him. Despicable.

I think you‘ve never met him once in ur life. What I dont get is that youve been in this forum for so many years now trying to go against Dr. Betz. How can someone spent time in this forum for the entire life? Once I‘m done consolidating, I wont ever visit this forum again. People are really strange.

Not everyone’s saying betz is bad

I’m saying simply that betzbone is way less advanced and efficient than stryde
Stryde also has less complication rate. That’s not an opinion or debatable

What you think is irrelevant. You simply can't refute the facts i have stated and therefore try to go ad hominem. Typical troll behaviour.

I did my femurs back in 2013 and am planning to do my tibia next year.
I was in good hands throughout my whole journey and even witnessed someone who suffered from complications and broke his nail. Dr. Betz helped him immediately. I wouldn’t go back for a second surgery if I wouldn’t trust him.
I would recommend to just visit him for a consultation, meet up with some patients and see for yourself.
And please be aware that this is a severe surgery! Of course there’s a possibility of complications, no one lies about that. What’s important is, how your doctors treats this complications if they should occur.

Hi Hanna, I know several patients like you who lengthened femurs successfully with Betz and then went on to lengthen tibia with him.
They now regret this for the rest of their lives.
Tibia is a completely different surgery. And Betz has botched it so many times.

I Would tell Hannah to be careful. Have you wondered why tibias are more expensive? They're more prone to complications. Of course Dr Betz Will say 'no big deal'. I Would investigate more before taking a decision. There are many tibia patients with issues. You're already tall. Greed can fk your limbs forever.

Things not true.  The Betzbone is fully weight-bearing even in the day of surgery. I walked by myself on crutches the very next day.

no it's not, it's made of aluminium which has too little strength at this diameter

It is weightbearing. At least for my weight (64 kg) and with my diameter (13 mm). I do not use crutches since day 10 after operation (except when leaving the house for safety reasons).

You do know MasterHY had 4 surgeries to fix the mess that doctor made.

And in the end he died because of it.

You got his username, check out his diary.
He also had one in the old forum.
If you don't know about MasterHY, then you clearly didn't do enough research.

I did LL with Dr. Betz back in 2012 and took my nails out about in the end of 2013. I did 9,5cm on the femurs (9cm on the left, 10cm on the right); I went from 5'5''to 5'9''. I had the 11mm Betzbone (the older model) and had to use crutches during the whole process until 9,5 months after surgery. My weight was 62kg back then (I'm 74kg now).

I know some people had problems with Betz but for me the LL was spectacular. I hated to be on crutches but the extra 10cm changed my life for the better. My only regret is that I didn't do this 10 years before.

I've recovered 99% and I'm as fit and muscular as i was before (and my tights are epic now...lol). The 1% that I didn't totally recovere was part of my flexibility, but I had an above average flexibility so it doesn't bother me much.

Having said that, if Stryde is really weight bearing without crutches maybe that's a better option now.
It would be nice to have Betz as the surgeon and Stryde as the nail.

The latest BetzBone is full weight bearing. You can walk with crutches the day of surgery as long as you don’t bounce. I am in the consolidation phase now and my xrays look perfect, according to Betz and also my primary care physician I’ve been seeing for over ten years. I repeat, the BetzBone is full weight bearing. You just cannot jump or run until the consolidation phase and X-rays showing sufficient consolidation.
