movie you say youre at 80%, do you feel like it's a strength issue, or biomechanics (femur is too long now, something torque something something too long femur which makes my kicks further away from hip and have less force, etc)

happy for you, you and SNC are the best recovery  on this entire forum. gotta get them nails out asap haha

cheers

For me I feel like the biggest issue is my quads were stretched like rubber bands and now I have to retrain the strength in them. Making those muscle cells enlarge and gain strength in the gym should help. I used to leg press 600-700 pounds. Now I freak out just walking down stairs...hahahaha. I haven’t tested my leg press capacity because I want to make sure I’m fully consolidated.

I can see how movie might feel 80%.

Hello movie!
Congratulations on your recovery !!
It amazes me how you have managed to walk well again and run again in such a short time after the intervention ...
Have you ever suffered from wide hips or lower back pain from trying to correct duck ass?
I am on the 75th day after the intervention of the femurs with stryde, I have increased 5.7 cm because I am lengthening at a rate of 0.81 mm per day and so far I have been doing well with pain control ...
For a few days I have been able to go up and down stairs without the help of crutches or supporting my hands, but my problem is that it is very difficult for me to walk with my back straight and at the same time bring my knees together.
I suppose it is something that gradually gets better but every time I look in the mirror and I see my hips so wide I wonder if you also suffered something similar at some point during the distraction ...

Happy to report I finally scored again at the soccer pick up games for the first time in almost 2 years haha I have not been going consistently at all but my legs are able to last more in the sprints/jogs that soccer requires, also I'm able to change direction a bit better, more stable and faster than I did last time I went to play. I can kind of keep up now with the people I used to play against, and my technique is decent still that doesn't disappear. I'm stoked! I'd say I'm at 80% of my previous speed now I feel lighter now can't to see how I'll feel once my nails are out.
Wow I'm very happy that's the news I was waiting for! I can just imagine how excited you could be, what a long comeback. How many did you?

@Serilium: It's both I'd say I'm not as strong as I used to be yet but I'd say pretty close now and biomechanical issue too, also still carrying nails inside my which are adding weight. Yeah! god willing this year they'll be out!

@itseasy: yeah man! It's a slow process gaining the new muscle so you don't feel your legs always stretching haha, mine are slowly stretching and creating more muscle still I feel it!

@FSChez: Thank you good sir. not sure about wide hips but lower back pain yes! need to stretch stretch stretch.
It'll gradually get better

@Tartar: Haha yeah Tartar! I'm stoked ;D I just scored once, but I had a few good chances.

@Jason125: This month for sure hahaha

@Serilium: Good brother I'm just a bit busy but I'll be updating you guys soon

Do you guys want an indepth video explaning differences and improvements I feel from last detailed update?
or just a quick video of my new speed and agility and show my new leg muscles definition?

let me know!

I would say the former. If you want, you could also talk about nail removal plans and whether you decided on doing it in the states or with Giotikas. Either way, I think many people (including myself) will appreciate your video and diary status updates.

Will have that in depth video update for you guys soon!

just got back from a pick up soccer game and I scored once again ;D!

I'm noticing I can keep up with the sprints of the older guys, they're about 40ish years old and mind you they're skinny asians so they got some decent speed haha, obviously can't keep up 100% with the agile people my age (kind of how fast I used to be pre op) but I'm getting there, everyday I'm seeing more and more approacing my pre-op level and this is with the rods still inside me, I know once they're out I'll be much faster and I really believe I'll be back to 100% or very very close.

Whoaaaaaaa, that's absolutely fantastic to hear.....

Movie the legend scoring again...!!!

With rods still inside....

I can help bt wonder what storm you will bring on the field once those rods are out!

Can you include like different excerises, movements like, half/full squats....burpees...push ups

Sprints....jogging , running....even walking.....
Juggling the soccer ball
On field movements etc
Maybe scoring a goal or two 😂

Would love to see your form !!!!

Keep improving, really happy to hear abt your progress!

Best wishes!!!

Wanted to update you guys!! in 5 days I will be 1 year & 10 months post-op. Today I did deep squats, so yes you can eventually do deep squats after 8cm femurs. mind you I'm not doing super heavy weight (105lbs) because it becomes much more difficult going deep but I did it!

also my legs are growing and getting more definition, this is my third leg workout with weights since my 1 year post op pains. Anyway next update will be more of an agility and running speed video as that has improved as well.

excuse my ass eating my shorts, it's the gains  ::)

It is illegal to not show the side view of squats  :P

Seriously I want to see if you're leaning too much forward while squatting.

Nice quads, Movie!

It is illegal to not show the side view of squats  :P

Seriously I want to see if you're leaning too much forward while squatting.
Biomechanics and center of gravity have changed, there's no way around leaning more forward than before while squatting after doing femurs.

Lol didn't want to show my face or go through having to find something to cover my face for the side view, I did consider it though, and yes form is compromised I lean forward more to balance it out, If I did it with my back straighter I would fall on my ass with the weight.

Hi Movie,

Good to hear from you and to see your video.

Post-pandemic life is going to keep all of us busier and I am finding it increasingly hectic to continue my daily walks and stretches.
Hope you continue to do some consistent daily workouts.

ahd1978: I don't drink super often but I did start to drink a bit around 1 month post-op, just a shot or two of some whiskey or tequila at my night outs with friends

Zuma: Yeah most definitely

SNC: Thanks SNC good to hear from you too

you're correct brother, you'll find that gap of time where you can fit a workout schedule  8)

Hello,
I had read that about midway into the distraction phase, one of your shins experienced numbness. Has this problem resolved itself now you are far into consolidation?

I had shin numbness and lots of shin pain after driving for about 15 minutes , but it all corrected a few weeks into consolidation

Do you think in maybe 5 years it can go back to 100% or is there a confirmed loss of athletic ability.

Audous: I want to believe that yes, that's possible with real hard work and dedication, also depending at what age you get the procedure done, I'm going to try my best to get back to pre-op and remove the nails soon, so I'll report back on that.

V21: hopefully I see major improvements after rod removal

nebula: Absolutely, and I'm not getting paid to recommend him, he's definitely top 3, but best price for the experience and track record he has.
