what's up guys I turned 8 months post-op April 1st

I'm good, Improving always! If you guys would like I can make a 9 month post op video with my work out routine as well, I just don't want to spam my thread and make it hard for others who are new and learning of this procedure to have to look at a long thread and get the info lost ... I guess if at least 5 people want the update video I'll make it if not I'll probably be making one at the year mark anyway. I'm just living life again now guys, except now with quarantine it's a bit hard to do that hahaha.

I would 100% be interested in seeing a video if you have the time to make one.

Although your recovery was way above average - as I'm someone who is in pretty good shape, naturally flexible and athletic and starting to prep for a potential surgery while still starting my journey learning about it - I would really be trying to emulate at least a portion of your success.

Knowing where you are at 8 months would really help. Cheers for making this great diary!

I'll have the 9 month post - op update video for you guys.

quick update Yesterday I went running with my dad, well a little jog of maybe 2 miles, didn't do so bad I jogged at a decent pace for a bit less than a mile (going slightly uphill) and walked for about 3 minutes, then ran the rest (going slightly downhill) and the last 200 Meters I upped the pace to a very fast jog and my time was 17:40 Minutes, I was actually impressed at myself, I hadn't done any sort of cardio like that since before the surgery so the fact I was able to do 2 miles in under 17:40 minutes is awesome, I attribute this milestone to my constant leg work outs and my drive to improve very week. I will start implementing Jogging once a week now at least with my father (he runs marathons) he ran with me for support he kept me going, I wanted to quit so bad for about half of that run lol but it's good to have someone there pushing you, and you also got to push yourself it's all mental. Anyway guys after the run my left hip by where my screws are felt sore and a bit in pain but honestly nothing major, today which is the day after my jog I feel sore but no pain anymore, I feel like I can even tackle that same circuit tomorrow and possibly improve time. anyway... just wanted to share this quick mile stone with you guys! I'm happy everything is going well and pretty close to my optimistic timeline. see you guys May 1st for the 9 month post-op update video

Hey movie nice to see that you are getting better at an unprecedented rate! How do you feel your jumping is. I've heard that jumping is the hardest to recover. Do you feel that your jumping is getting better or worse? Do you think you will ever be able to improve it to where you were before?

Hey movie, I hope your doing well. I just want to say a great job on the recovery. You are a true inspiration for many people on this forum. I just had a request, for the update video you will be posting on the 1st would it be possible to have a clip of were you are walking normally rather than jogging. It will allow me to have a better idea of your walking style. Thank you again!

@sickkk: my jump has evidently gotten better
@BelowTheMean: Thanks so much!
@lucky1: my walking gait is normal now nobody would ever suspect anything out of the ordinary

As promissed guys here's my 9 month post op update, some jogging and my work out routine for those of you who are recovering from the surgery i started doing this work out since about 7 months post op its a full circuit with as less rest as possible in between work outs and a 2 minute break between circuits, repeat 3 times.

Nice!!!

I’m not sure how to explain this, but do your legs still have that ‘broken’ feeling when doing these?

Thanks very much also for showing us your workout routine as well. Must be even tougher doing those exercises with a mask on lol.

Anyways Movie, you are doing awesome!! I think everyone here who is wanting/hoping to someday be able to achieve/afford their dream of becoming taller "greatly" appreciates your post surgery updates and just the fact that you continue to stay part of this great community...

Keep up the great work brother, and "Thank you soooo much again!" ;)

Amazing results Movie! I've been following your progress for the last few months. Your proportions look really good especially for 8cm and you have incredible athleticism after going such a major lengthening on one segment.

E Z: Yes I understand what you mean, and no I haven't felt my bones still being broken or not solid since about a month ago, I haven't had pains in my osteotomy site since about a month ago, I only feel discomfort in my hips and side of knees but mostly hips now where my screws are but that's just because, well there's screws there lol. other than that I feel my bones strong and I'd be confident to say consolidated to do anything now really.

deaddog: Thanks for the kind words bro! and I'll continue to do so and be part of this community that's helped myself get through this chapter of my life as well, hoping that I can help as well.

Alchemist: yeah bro definitely! It's paying off I'm happy about it. I'd say early 2021 I want to leave them in there for at least a year and a half to make sure I don't lose any height and to ensure they're strong enough to be on their own lol.

adam12828: Well I walk normal, jog about 60-70% there sprint maybe 60-70% as well... guys gotta remember I used to be very athletic I'd run 2 miles in under 12 minutes and sprinted pretty fast as well

Hi Movie! Have you already tried to play football again?
Anyway congratulations for your result! Did you have a short femur at the begin? It looks very natural, 8cm is a good goal

no unfortunately I have not been able to play soccer since around late February due to an injury on my hip due to playing soccer and right after covid hit and my group of people who'd organize the pick up games haven't met up to play for safety.

but here are a few sprints I did last week: some warm ups some faster:

Warm up Sprint: https://imgur.com/a/GnNZPTE

Fastest Sprint of the day: https://imgur.com/a/5NMC4uR

Race Against my 50 Y/O Mom #1: https://imgur.com/a/UQ7k36P
#2 Went faster towards the end on this one Lol: https://imgur.com/a/l6UvrYT

I feel like my sprint speed is about 80% of what it used to be now and keeps improving, also I gained weight guys I'm bulking up and working out often I'm at 170LBs or so in the video so that could be why I'm a little slow too

does anyone know how much the stryde nails weight? I want to know how much weight it's adding to my body weight

That's great! The limb is very toned and beatiful. I've noticed just that maybe your knee tends to be a bit external during the running, but maybe is just the way you run. I've asked you cause I used to play football several times a week and I'd like to come back even if 1 or 2 years after the surgery (I'm planning it this month, I should add the same amount you did with the same Stryde)
What are your mesurement about torso and inseam? I'm not obsessed by proportion but yours are definitely very good.

yes that's how I'd run pre op too.. my legs would push slanted to the back of the other leg while running, but now it's more noticeable post-op not sure why, maybe the rods holding me from my full range of motion of some muscles still being tight. I'm sure 1-2 years is a very doable time frame to get back into the soccer field, I'm sure I could play now If I'd like to at a much better pace and a bit more competitively than last time I tried it 3 months ago or so.

I didn't measure my torso I knew I had very short legs for my stature. As for inseam, I wear 30x30 jeans they used to sag a lot at the bottom, now they fit me perfect.

Wow that's impressive Movie. You're looking pretty fast and explosive imo.

Your sprinting mechanics are a little unusual, I noticed that before, good to know LL hasn't negatively effected that for you.

Does that springing hurt at all? And is any pain, joint and bone or soft tissue?

I'm going to follow your lead if I undergo LL and post some videos for other people considering the surgery. I'm thinking of doing pre and post videos showing flexibility and range of motion so people can see the differences.

I'm still undecided but since I'm lucky enough to be able to do Stryde with a top doctor I'm finding it harder to justify not doing it. The feedback and peoples results are super impressive.

He's talking about the Magnet lengthening device you plug into the wall and extends your nails, not the nails themselves.

@MyEvolution Really? Thanks man I think I posted a video with my body weight only work out routine after month 6 that really helped me gain a lot of strength and size and I've moved up to weighted squats and weighted exercises pretty much because my legs are getting stronger. As far as the work outs to start running well I'd say a mix of the leg work outs and starting off with jogging, then trying some sprints, consistency is key I can tell how I've gotten faster and lighter on my legs since I've been working out on them and sprinting.

Little update video guys about a week ago I hit a new personal record with weighted squats, I was able to do 200LB! Check it out, also I know I'm not doing good deep squats and that's because as of now I can't, after 8CMs in Femurs it threw off my balance, if I went down lower than I did there, I'd probably fall back on my ass, I'm actually consciously trying to go as low as possible on these.
