Simon what's up bro I'm doing good, and I've passed that point since about 2 or three weeks ago, since I've been driving around and going out to eat or things like that, I was pretty much back to normal life except with crutches as if I was injured.

Damn bro that's fantastic, it's barely been a month or just a little over, and you're already out and about on crutches. Fantastic progress!!

Movie - did you do a lot of stretching before the surgery?

almost two months yeah! thanks actually yesterday was my first time going out without crutches (because I knew there wasn't much walking to do) to go eat with a very good friend of mine that I haven't seen since before the surgery and he knows about my surgery so it was funny for both of us to see the difference, I used to look up to him slightly and now he looks up slightly at me in terms of height of course. 4.5CM really does make a difference lol.

I would play soccer about 2-3 times a week and I'd stretch a bit before the games... Mahboubian said I had above average flexibility and that It'd be a "walk in the park" for me in terms of flexibility hahaha and right now I'm pretty tight haha but I just keep stretching a little all through out the day I don't spend one full hour dedicated to stretching and PT, instead I just stretch whenever I remember for about 5 minutes multiple times a day and walk unassisted to whatever I have to do in my day, go up my stairs and down ETC.

Same. I think PT in terms of stretching is a bit overrated. It's a losing battle. My flexibility was terrible pre-op, I couldn't even touch my toes. Most of the PT I do is walking and trying to bend my knees, and trying to improve my gait whether it be on walker or crutches.

I do have good hips, and strong legs from years of training so maybe that's helped.

I agree EZ it's a bit overrated, I think the best PT is walking weather assisted or even better unassisted once you're able to during this process, my gait has Improved lately my hips have gotten stronger from all the unassisted walking and going up/down stairs I do, It's looking a little more normal and less like a penguin now, I consciously tried to figure out how I can combat against the penguin sways and little by little I started walking a little more normal, It's still a work in progress but I felt it was good enough to go out without my crutches in public as I mentioned a few days ago and not feel too embarrassed about my walk.

Looking good Movie, updates are awesome. Just a quick question: I noticed you still look quite fit... what are you doing in terms of exercise? are you able to do pushups, pull ups, crunches, etc.? I'm a gym junkie and go 6 days a week... wondering how I can maintain while doing LL.

Damn ok. I guess you really gotta sacrifice a bit to get those extra inches. Seems worth it as time flies!

What's up fellas haven't been recording much lately because life's just been kind of back to normal lately, just want to update before the next video
I've distracted 5.3 CM and it's been a roller coaster of pains since about 4CMs up to this point lol, I get numbing on my right leg's shin not on my left, left leg's quads are tighter and I get some pains right above the knee on the smaller quad muscle there and It's maybe a 6/10 pain I have to bend my knee for it to kind of stop and massage it with pain relieving cream... have been feeling the need for my tylenol pills more than I would have from I'd say 2.5 - 3.8 CMs ... but overall it's still very bareable, I've been going out more and more unassisted, I walk a little funny but it's ok I just take it as practice and try to concentrate on not walking like a penguin as much as I can... I don't really walk a lot when I'm out anyway, it's usually just for food. that's it guys looking forward to reading any comments questions or concerns, cheers.

Bro - been waiting for an update from you for a minute - glad it's here!

Regarding the pain - 4cm - 5.3cm is roughly 13 days, so effectively 2 weeks of feeling the problems you discussed.

When you think about it in terms of 2 weeks vs the rest of your life - is that what helps?

Also when you say normal - how are you occupying your time, I imagine all your friends and family have jobs so are you mainly chilling at home until they all finish their work for the day? (weekends excl obviously lol)

SimonFuller: Yeah exactly about 2 weeks of a build up, it started lightly as a 2/10 pain on the part right above my knee but last night dang... it hit probably 8/10 range I actually yelled in agony for some quick 2 seconds, so I can only assume it's going to get worse as I progress maybe until like 6CMs where people say problems start suddenly disappearing lol.

what helps what? me pushing through it? uhm no that's not exactly what i think about, I just think about it's part of the process, and I can tough it out, stopping hasn't crossed my mind at all.. until I achieve my goal that's when I'll stop.

I just do normal stuff everyone else would be doing at 23 recovering from an injury lol except I really don't have many responsibilities right now gladly, go for breakfast, go for lunch dinner with my girl, with friends, go watch soccer games, movies etc

I find it very hard to get a good picture of what LL is like. 8/10 pain, taking meds every day, walking up and down stairs, going to soccer games and movies. I can't decide if it's easy or difficult  :D

You killin' it man Movie. Can't wait for the next vlog

Michael: started at 154Lbs now I'm 145LBs and going up, lowest point was 142LBs a couple weeks ago. I think I got the medium sized nail.

cena: for me it only hit 8/10 pain once lol, meds yeah they have been everyday minus a day or two around 2.5CMs I felt the best really, no more post surgery trauma pain, and not stretched enough to start dealing with soft tissue pains and nerve pains etc, but other than that It's no walk in the park but it's not difficult to go on about your day either, maybe it's a mentality thing, it's not hard for me because my days go by fast thankfully lol with friends, my gf and stuff it just goes by quick when you're having a good time. Thanks Cena next vlog coming soon when I hit 6CMs

Movie,

That is amazing.  I'd say you're easily about 6-8 weeks ahead of where I was with regard to gait and overall mobility at this point.   By the way; I plan to update my thread soon, but all is well. I'm 9 months completed since my surgery was in early 2019 and life is back to normal.  Running and agility continue to improve, but at the 9 months down point, I'm really able to enjoy life fully again and my gait is back to normal.  I'd say for me, I felt fairly normal again by month 6.

Note for the community - Movie, I believe you were fairly active with your legs before CLL? Played Soccer regularly, etc?  If any of you are planning to go forward with CLL, I have realized that many of the active, strong-legged individuals out there with strong flexibility do REALLY well with CLL and are already moving quite well after only 2-3 months.   Myself, I was not active with my legs and had very average flexibility and I believe that caused me to have to wait another good 1-2 months before I could be comfortable with walking and mobility overall.   Fruit for thought.

Movie, Keep up the great work! and We're all looking forward to seeing more! Proportions looks great.

I can tell you what I did don't know if it's good advice for you though, I just went up and down the stairs holding on to the rail and as days went by I started letting my legs to more and more work until I finally felt like my legs could do it all, and tried it... going downstairs is harder thought took me like a month extra to go downstairs unassisted but now I can do it, it looks easier than it actually is in my video

IFS: Thanks bro I really appreciate your encouraging words! I'm glad you continue to improve as well, IFS.

Yes, I was pretty active, my legs were stronger than the average and had good flexibility.
