People are really disconnected
« on: July 17, 2019, 02:14:50 PM »

We live in a world where even at 5'10 or 5'11 people consider you as short while it is more than almost all national average
When you go on reddit, people will tell you that with 6'1 it's too short to date some girls (it just happened : Maybe depends on where you live? I'm 6'1 and that   is a deal breaker more often than not)
when you go to a dating site, average will be like 5'9 for girls and 6'1 for men while they are not even from ethnically tall people
when you see an artist, or a celebrity getting humiliated just because he is not the tallest

seriously, it is unbearable. When you try to bring some reality to these people telling them that average isn't 5'11 nor 6ft and that 6ft7 is very uncommon, they jump at you like if you were an heretic
While I usually try to escape these topics, knowing that it will bother me I sometimes can't escape. For example seeing my grandma in admiration because my young female cousin of 13 yo is now 5'9 is making me quite upset

and after all of this, you will still be seen as a fool because you think that LL would mentally help you

A piece of advice: never ever undergo such an op just for the girls! Don't look at the online dating sh**t. A study found out that girls find only around 5 to 10% of men attractive "online"

In real life, some (and even most) girls don't even consider such a thing and to be honest, I (and definetly you also) don't want a girlfriend, who will only look to my height or "my look" in general!, Nobody wants such a girlfriend because she might leave you (or cheat on you) if she sees someone more goodlooking than you!

I'm from Germany (one of the tallest in the world) and I know exactly what I'm talking about. I dated girls and some of them were ~5 to 10 cm taller than I, and they never ever complained about my height

Think about it yourself: girls don‘t have any other criteria to evaluate the man „online“ other than his look, and because of the diversity of choices online, it‘s harder for the girl to choose someone.

I have some friends who are between 185 and 195 cm and they really don‘t have any luck online, even if the girl answered and matched and everything.

In the real life it‘s totally a different game!

To be honest, I'm not even using my face picture on those dating websites. I only go to compare people from different countries. To try to understand them and see where the mentality looks better
but it's pretty much the same everywhere in developed countries

Dude stop using online as a source. Everyone online says they're 6ft+ I'm 5'6 and if I didn't go out, i'd think noone under 6ft even existed. Yet, I find other 5'6 men every single time I go out.

Also, height on Tinder/Dating websites etc is just a game, girls use certain angles and postures to look curvier and hide unwanted features and guys add 2+ inches to their height. Just play the game. No girl can tell if you're 5'10 or 6'2 unless they're close to that height themselves.

What it sounds like is you're basically the same as the girls who are on Instagram everyday scrolling through pics and only coming across models so they think that is the standard.

Quit living your life around social media standards, go out, socialise with women yourself and you'll see that they don't care. I'm 5'6 yet i've been in several relationships and been on dozens of dates or one night stands.

(This obviously isn't me replying to the person who created this thread, I'm talking to the guys reading this thread that think 6ft+ is the standard)

IRL: add one inch to your real height.

Online: add another inch to your fake IRL height.

Yes I do want to add, before doing this surgery, ask yourself if you have optimized your life to the fullest extent possible (job/career, personality, etc).

Maybe you go for ethnic girls with low standards?

After becoming 5'9", I realized that a lot of people who originally said they were 5'10"-6' are actually my height. When the average woman pictures a 6' dude, she's actually thinking of a 5'9" dude because so many dudes have lied about their actual height. 5'9.5" is the actual average male height in the US. I have several friends who are 5'9-5'11. Its really hard to tell the heights apart at that point.

Don't base your worldview on what people post online. Most web forums (especially dating related forums) tend to attract people who are not as socially adept vs the average population.

I absolutely agree. And after all the c--- you get from outside sources, you consider LL then you just have to accept yourself, dont do it, it's all in your head, and its all your fault, an inside job. A psychological problem and you need help just cos you want to gain a few inches and not be short. I have friends who are average height (women ) 5'4 and even 5'5 and 5'6 and even they're referring to themselves as "midgets" and "dwarf" and short, if they're short at average and over average height then what does that make me lol! I think people are really deluded about whats average and whats not and it doesn't help short peoples case. Oh yes you become a joke, the amount of times someone has patted my head

Very good point. Online tends to collect losers whose opinions others wouldn't want to listen to in person. They also don't have much better to do or actual social lives ( not all the time obvi).
The internet is completely deluding us. Only 14.5% of men in America are 6ft tall, 3.2% 6ft 2. 5'4 is average for women here. How could a woman possibly end up with a 6ft 2 guy when there are 20x more average height women per male.
People are deluded by height. I hope in the future people will see the toxicity bred internet wise and start hiking or hanging out in person without alcohol and make real human bonds based on character and personality again.
Also once a women gets comfortable with you it is very malleable. I remember being 5'1 HS freshman year and getting with a 5'3 chick who was like top 10 out of 120 girls. It took time but women will ignore such appearance "flaws" and woman are so slutty these days I know a 6ft red head who dates a 6'3 guy and when he is out of town hooked up with a 5'7 dude.

I’m a woman and I can’t tell the difference between a 5’10 man. They look the same to em

Because all the 5’9-5’10 at barefoot guys  claim another 2-3 inches online. In reality only 1 in every 10 males is at or over 6ft in America. I’m 5’6 and 5’8 with shoes and 1inch lifts and I’ve never had a problem with females. I make up for my height with attractive facial features and my Porsche, however I don’t pay for girls or buy them stuff  mind you.

5’9 and a half is the real average male height in America for 2019. I don’t care what anyone claims that is proven statistics. If you feel short at 5’10-6ft you are an idiot and have mental issues. Do some guys that are 5’10 wanna be 6ft? Sure. There’s nothing wrong with that. But don’t try to say you have height neurosis unless you live somewhere like Netherlands. Even then you are only 2 inches below the average. Being 5’9+ is nothing comparable to being 5’5 more or less

Nowadays the Internet is riddled with gaslighting and fearmongering. It just makes people always feel unsatisfied with things including their heights.

Reddit is filled with deluded height frauders, don't take it too seriously. Most normies are clueless about height.
