My Final Measurements
« on: May 16, 2019, 06:50:33 PM »

Height: 64 inches
Tibia Length: 12.5 inches

Femur Length: 14 inches

Current T/F Ratio: .89

Sitting Height: 34 inches

Current SH Ratio: .531

Wingspan: 67 inches

Current Wingspan to Height Ratio: 1.0456875

Arm Length: 21.5 inches (From top of shoulder to Wrist)

Current Arm length to Height Ratio: .336

Inseam: 28 inches

Current Inseam to Height Ratio: .4375

Total Leg Length (Tibia + Femur): 26.5

Leg to Body Ratio: .414

Plan:
Get 2 inches on Femur using Stryde
Prospective T/F Ratio: .78

Prospective SH Ratio: .516

Prospective Wingspan to Height Ratio: 1.015 (Possibly even 1)

Prospective: Arm Length to Height Ratio: .326

Prospective Inseam to Height Ratio: .454

Prospective Leg to Body Ratio: .432

Everything seems to be within the limits of normalcy.

I got limits of ABR and LBR from the following link: https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/full/10.1098/rsos.171790

This whole endeavour hinges on these proportions for me. I will not overlengthen to the point that my proportions are significantly out of whack and offputting which is why I went thoroughly on all the proportions, measurements, and ratios I could quantify. All those measurements are self measured for the most part although I did get a little help with wingspan and arm length. These may not be the most accurate measurements. I can't really ask anybody to do this for me and I don't know of a place that provides with really accurate measurements.

Next Steps:
Make Mock-Ups
Contact Dr. Paley about initial consultation costs
Save up money for operation
Look up appropriate Doctors

Any thoughts on the normalcy on these measurements and what is the best way to measure myself? Do you think it's the best plan? Brutal Feedback is much appreciated. Thank you.

Paley... is definitely and great choice .. if you don't mind me asking .. how old are u ?
Also ... why go for 2inches ?  If everything works out fine.. why not push for 3 inches

If proportions ... is a big thing for you?  Why not try photo mocks of your own legs add the desired on the mocks ...  ;)

Yeah, Paley is my top choice.

He's pretty much the man, lol.

I'm a bitter 21 year old.

As for why 2 inches instead of 3.

The consensus I see on this forum is that 5-6 cms on Femur is relatively safe. Anything higher is a bit riskier, but still doable in the care of a good doctor, but the main reason is that add an inch to my measurements up top and the new prospective ratios are all out of the range of normalcy, which I really want to preserve. 2 inches isn't the greatest increase especially at a lower height like mine, but it's definitely noticeable and if I'm just a little less short while at the same time preserving my proportions, that's a major win for me. 2 inches on the femur will actually improve my upper body to leg ratio, but unfortunately at the expense of my arms to body ratio, and the tibia to femur ratio will be theoretically normal so nobody will bat an eye.

If I undergo the surgery and I feel great at 5.5 cms, I will still cut it off for proportionality reason.

Also to reduce the shifting of the mechanical axis which is inevitable with internal methods, but I doubt it's that big of a deal. Where it not for the shifting of the mechanical axis, internal would be obviously better than external, except for those queasy about invasive surgery, but I'm going off a tangent.
