In terms of attraction, no preference as long as she is not way shorter than I am or more than a bit taller.

For breeding purposes, tall is good.  5'7-5'8" is perfect. Hate to say it, but height is one of the first things I look for in a woman when I consider her to be long-term relationship material.

In many ways I'm even more superficial, but it isn't for my own benefit.  I feel like I would owe it to any future sons I might have to give them a good chance of being average or at least close to average height to escape heightism and just be able to live their lives without this insecurity weighing down on them.  If they were below average at all, I would fully support them getting limb lengthening as soon as they finished growing.

Yes, it is kind of superficial as there are much more qualities you may want to look for in a partner for matting. The insecurity is largely something that is created in our heads and height is not all about genetics, it has to do with your lifestyle, food, etc while being a teenager. For example, the girl I like is 5’4 while her father is 5’11 and her mother 5’8 so it’s not genetics only.
And when it comes to girls, we all noticed how a woman wants to be dominated but that can be also done using with our attitude. Off course height helps but I’ve ‘’won’’ girls over 5’10 guys with my attitude and because they were kind of stupid (no struggling hard makes then believe they can obtain things easily). So be sure all other qualities you have are ok, character, intelligence, etc before jumping into LL.
I feel LL is something worth it but it’s also very expensive for what you get…and let’s face it, if you want to be close to normal after LL you can’t go more than 2 inches which won’t make a short guy tall.

Fun fact, studies showed that women have more concentrated gas than men when both eat the same portion and type of food, the only reason there's no difference in smell is because men tend to be bigger so they release a larger quantity. Basically that means that tall women have the smelliest farts out there. So that's a drawback of being a tall lady !Bwahaha

Actually, height is highly heritable, i.e. playing the genetic roulette is what determines about 80-90% of height differences of people in developed nations since people generally have near optimal nutrition and environment.  Children's heights are normally distributed according to the gender adjusted average height of the parents.  A girl with a 5'11" father and a 5'8" mother would expect on average to turn out 5'7", but there is still a very small chance she could turn out 5'4", and there is a ~75% chance she will turn out between 5'6" and 5'8".
