Going beyond 15-20% original bone length muscles?

As I'm sure many of you have read the majority of doctors recommend the idea of not going beyond 15% of original bone length 20% maximum as it's said that
soft tissues can't take it. Your muscles will be stretched beyond their limits and so on.

Do they mean permanently? In that you will never fully recover? Or that it's less likely you'll recover?

I believe it's a permanent effect, kind of like how once you stretch a rubber band past a certain point and the band starts to get small tears in it before eventually snapping. Once it gets those tears it won't go back to its original elasticity even if you stop pulling it. At least that's how I made sense of it in my mind in regards to lengthening limits for soft tissues.

Unfortunately, we only have a few people who went over that limit reporting back to old forum /LL Forum about their results.  I tried to get in touch with a girl from China who did more than that (quite a lot more).  She said she'd respond to me later because she was busy, but never did.

I just measured my tibiae and found out that I did exactly 20% (15" to 18"), so my results are no help either.  :P

Hey MDOW, how exactly do you measure tibia length, because from my heel to my knee cap i'm getting about 17inches but from my ankle to kneecap i'm getting 15inches dead on. Which one should i use?

Also for Femur length i'm getting about 16 inches, maybe 17 inches, i'm not sure. Do these sound in proportion to you?

i dont think you are supposed to measure from the heel, measure from the ankle. So 15 inches for your tibias sound correct.

I actually just measured again, it's about 14 inches from ankle to below the middle of my kneecap. I'm pretty short legged i guess.. Thanks for that btw :)

Measuring along the inside of the leg is best.  You can see it sticks out at the knee and the ankle so you know where to measure.
