Should i have external LL surgery ? What is your opinion.
« on: April 21, 2014, 11:10:19 PM »

To start with i am a 31 years old male.  I am 5.4'' and i am a bussiness man who has been doing fine. Last month i was left by my girlfriend and she said that didn't love me anymore. All of a sudden i felt bad and thought height could be an issue because she was 3 - 3.5 inches taller than me.

After a  week she left me , i found her chat log with one of her girlfriend where she says she cannot tolerate how short i am , when we go out she feels inconfident and insecure in front of me so she just wants a taller guy.

It's unacceptable and heartbreaking to loose someone whom you love just because you were born a few inches shorter than her.

This conversation totally ruined my psychology and made me thought about having this surgery.

Right now i am facing height disphoria what my psychologist says.

I have been playing soccer for years and i do snowboard for 15 years.  As you can estimate , my legs are pretty strong.  I did gymnastics when i was a kid so my legs seems to be flexiable as well.

I do not care about the pain,  i had worst surgeries where my zygomatic arch and eye socket bones were broken and fixed. so i am sure i can handle the pain associated with the LL surgery.

Moreover,  i am a software engineer who works at my home so i spend most of my time at home.

Considering the information i have given above, should i have this surgery?

I really want to be 7 - 8 cm. longer than right now.

5ft4 is considered short in many countries.  If LL can help you overcome your psychology and social barrier, then do it.   Research all the risks and complications, then consult the best Doctors you can afford.

You could have given us half the information and I would personally give you the green light. It seems that you have a good career, and perhaps from your age, you have money saved up. You should look at doing surgery with Dr. Paley, especially if you want 1 surgery and a gain of 7 cm.

Sorry to hear about your girlfriend. It appears to be a common thread on this forum and women tend to be the leading cause of frustration for men.

Can you take the pain? Yes - referring to your post.
Have you saved up $55,000 USD? Yes. I assume you do based on your background.
Can you afford to take 4-6 months away from work and be away from home? Yes - since you're now single.
Do you own a laptop with 30 to 100 movies to watch in your spare time? Yes?

If I was in your shoes, I would go to do LL immediately. Sweden was also around your age so I wouldn't think your age would be an issue. After you return home with 7-8cm of height-gain, go to the gym and workout for 2 hours per day. Change your clothes and work on your skincare routine (lol). Then one day, pretend to accidentally bump into your ex. She'll be awe at your change. This was what I did.

I'm currently running and jumping now with no pain. The only downside would be that you won't be able to play soccer for a year and even if you do, it will be hard for you to keep up with your previous agility and speed... unless you train really hard. My surgery was only $15k.. so maybe a $55k-100k surgery would bring better result.

Sure you can do it. I would go in an instant if I were you.

If anyone ask, tell them you had a mountain climbing accident.
Why not contact Dr Jamal in Ukraine?

And don't bother wasting time on your ex. Get taller and just get a new one. 2h in the gym is a good advice.

Also start listening to Tom Leykis and go MGTOW. Will help you realize that it's a waste of a life to focus on women.

Hey Sweden. Sorry for using your name. How is your recovery going? I can't access your diary from the old forum. As with most other Sarin's patient, I think my main complication I have at the moment is my x-leg, which my doctor here promise that he will fix for me. He will also remove the rod here so I won't have to go back to India.

Kilokahn. I agree with you. Women are just other human beings. They should never be the focus. The focus should be yourself and the people you value around you, like your family and your pets. Women should just be the icing on the cake, something you can live without but enjoyable to have.

Hello livewithme,

you seem a very good candidate for LL, given your short height and your financial background (which I assume you have as a "buisiness man, who has been doing fine").

My advice would be not too much being the buisiness man in LL, which means that LL is not the place to safe money and go to a cheaper Dr.
LL is a complicated surgery and many things can go wrong.

If you can afford one of the absolute top Drs, then do it!

If you have a lot of money (and time), you could even consider 2 surgeries for safe amounts, for example 5cm in tibias and 6cm in femurs. This would keep your legs in proportion and give you a nice height without doing crazy amounts of lengthening in one of the segments.

Right foot is bothering me every morning, tight ankle. It takes a couple of minutes for it to wake up.
I've been running one time pretty well. 200 meters something.

They don't want to remove the rod in Sweden unless it gives me problems.

I also had this same feeling just 10 minutes ago.... a lot of resentment, hatred and regret about life. My coworker introduced this place to me for a hair cut. I came there asking for "Christy" and it turned out to be the girl who I thought about during all of my waking hours and in my sleep 10 years ago. We were both in high-school. Though she wanted to talk to me, I couldn't approach her because of my height insecurity. All these years have gone by and the time lost! All those years of lamenting over my weakness and letting the finer things in life passes by.

We had a small conversation about aging. She didn't recognized me but I told her that I remembered her. I'm taller than her now :) Maybe that's why she doesn't recognize me. And after I left, I gave her a $20 tip over the amount. Inside my car, I still thought about her innocent personality, her curiosity, her entrepreneurship (she's the owner of the business), her sweet smile and her humility. I wished for a bullet to my head and start over again. This time I won't be shy anymore.

All will be well if you look at your time with her as ''I want sex" versus "I want a serious relationship", imo.

If i were you i would do leg lengthening. Im in a similar situation with my height 5'5 . 70 per cent of girls are taller than my. Is a very big handicap to date with girls. I had a girlfriend how is 169cm and when she is on her higH hells she is one head taller than me. Its ridiculous.

she is beautiful girl half white and half Puerto Rican long hair nice body long legs

That description sounds quite amazing. And she's 19 as well, seven years younger than you?! Height be damned, what are you waiting for?

You don't have to think long-term, just hang out and date her for a while, if she shows any insecurity about your heights, end it before you become more involved and risk getting too hurt. She should notice if she thinks your height is a problem quite early in any dating situation or relationship. If she doesn't care about it, why should you, as long as you're attracted to her. You may regret it later unless you give it a try while you can. Maybe it doesn't work out, who knows, but I can assure you that LL hurts more than her dumping you could.

Nice. Did you reply to her yet? Just play cool. Nothing to feel nervous about. It's just human interaction. That's normal.

You have two options:

1. You can go out with her and risk being HURT!.. not in the physical sense, unless she is into watching UFC or take up kick-boxing classes. Even though you risk being hurt you get to find out more about this woman and experience what it is like being with a 19 years old girl, which many of us can no longer do. This is nicer than sitting at home with your hand over your lap. Or....

2. You can be like me and let your height insecurity rob you of your youthful years. After 10 years and perhaps you would have saved up your 100k for LL by this time. Come back and meet her when you're finally 5'10 and only to realized that she isn't the same person that she was when she was 19. At this moment, if your conversation goes well and you find out how interesting she is, you can start to lament how you wished you hang out with her more during this 10 years when you guys were both youthful and innocent.

Yeah, just play it cool and casual. If your height really drags you down, then consider putting in a layer or two of lifts. Dress your best and have good hygiene. Wear cologne. Once you meet her, smile and act professionally.... like a good salesman... don't reek of desperation or of insecurity. Don't say things like, "don't leave me babe," "you're really important to me," "don't hurt me." you get the idea. If you feel fear, take a deep breath and embrace it. Fear will make you stay mentally alert and be aware of your surrounding.

I think your shyness will be a turn-on for women. You feel nervous because you value this exchange. This will make you be considerate and kind to her. She will feel that you value her. Pretty women don't care about you. They care about how you make them feel.

If you need more dating advice, let me know!

Bigguy, since you mentioned it, I found it worth asking  :)  How have you observed people's personalities change when they're 10 years older (say, 19 vs. 29)? And a more specific question - have you seen an 19 yr old girl talking negatively about the concept of marriage, and then getting desperate to get married 10 years later? LOL. I'm particularly curious about that one.

Hey Chris,

Actually, I never dated a woman long enough to consider marriage. Well, I met this one during the end of my University life and she suggested it to me. After I hear this I put her on my ignore list and that was the end of that.

I think women, like men, wants the best mate they can possibly find. But as they get older and their appearance fade, their options and windows become much narrower, so that's why, you will find that older women tend to cling more desperately to a potential marriage prospect whereas a young girl would play it cool and relaxed. Young girls know that their options are still wide open so they are not as eager to get married. The only ones who wants to married while they are still young are the ones who have no direction in life and just want to get married off to a reliable guy so they don't have to work hard for their own future.
