Can someone help me with proportion math?
« on: October 24, 2017, 01:42:25 AM »

Here are my current measurements:

Height - 67.875"
Knee Height - 21.25"
Waist Height to pelvis - 39"
Wingspan - 63 13/16"

This is similar to another thread I posted. I want to add as much as possible without looking disproportionate.

What should I do?

Your wingspan is 4 inches shorter than your height?

So you either have really short arms or really narrow shoulders. Probably a mix of both. Honestly the only way you could really tell how much you can lengthen is by taking a full length picture.

I measured correctly. What does this tell me about how much I can add?

you need to take a picture. if your not comfortable with that, then you wont get an accurate number. Even the most tech illiterate people can use microsoft paint to block out their face. Dont mean to sound like a dck, but you cant just throw a whole bunch of measurements around and expect people to give you an accurate number

Should this picture be in the wingspan position from head to toe?

Yea I just measured again. It's 70". Lol.

What does this tell me about how much height I can add? I would also be worried about proportion between leg height and total height. And even specific length of tibia and femur.

This means that if I added 14 cm, my arms would be between 3-4" shorter than height. I don't think that's a big deal.

That's more like it. You're right, not a big deal if this is the case. You'll look fine.

I have heard that increasing greater amount on femur is better than increasing tibia. But with me my femur is already larger than tibia. So I wanted to increase 7 on tibia and 6 on femur to maintain my proportion. Being a girl who is around 140cm, is it too much?

My wingspan is the same. 140cm.

You're balanced now, so that's good -- better than starting with shorter arms. Adding 13cm to 140cm is a big jump, and that's assuming that you can lengthen that much to begin with. For you it might be the equivalent of lengthening over 8-9cm.

Back to proportions, you'll end up looking like a petite model with long legs. Add heels and you're way up there. But honestly, it probably won't make others think twice, since everyone (you don't already know) will just think you were born with long legs. Fashion can make a big difference on how our proportions look as well.

You just have to weigh your options, which will bother you most: being short and balanced or taller with long legs.
