One of my biggest worry right now prior to doing LL is my proportions after the surgery,
Not to mention my leg functions after lengthening that amount.

My current height is about 163cm, with my leg length (measured from crotch down) is about 73 cm
My wing span is about 161cm

My hope was to lengthening 5 inches (split between femur and tibia)
Both of these considered, how realistic is this?

Close to none, going past 4 inches for both segments will wreck your proportions and mechanical functions.

Out of the curiosity, whats your sitting height?

4 inches is 10cm so it will be 173cm.

5'4 to 5'8 is a huge jump, where are you living?

If your sitting height is around 90cm and your wingspan more than 168 cm you can do around 10-12 cm split into tibia and femur. The guy above is just a LL dweller so dont worry. He never met an orthopaedic surgeon.

At least 5 inches? Is too much, I think you should call It a day if you do 4 inches And go out without complications or even 11 cm, but no more.

I currently live in Canada

If I were to just have 10cm increase would it significantly reduce the complication?

If done in two surgerys yes a reduced risk.

3 inches should be the limit.

3 inches on tibias and 3 inches on femurs. You can go for it.
One question remains: How will your proportions look?

Look at your wing span and your sitting height, and do mock ups.
Look at your current leg lengths to judge how to split the lengthening.

I do think that your wing span is already short. Not too short for one LL, but for two.
Look into the term "ape index" and see for yourself. Also, do mock ups.

Hey what about 6.5cm tibia and 8.5-9 in femur. Im not worried about the proportions but I heard it is safe. Besides there was a guy who went from 6 inches so I highly doubt this will create permenant complications? and Im a pretty skinny guy too/healthy if that makes a difference.
