« on: June 30, 2017, 03:59:16 PM »

If tomorrow magical nerds find a treatment that re open the growth plates , so a painless experience . How much would you  pay for it ? How much would you lengthening ? and why ?

btw when do you think a treatment like this will be availble . But don't get me wrong for height seekers like us LL is the only way .

I will pay a lot if that magical thing occurred. We will not see this for at least the next 20 years or maybe never, maybe for those whom their bone didn't fused it will make it open for longer time, this is the only hope. for us we have to take the risk.

I don't really think it's a matter of how much we are willing to pay, rather how much we can afford to pay. A lot of users on here are willing to take the LL risk and still can't even afford LL. Even if this "magical" scenario were possible most people wouldn't be able to afford it if it were the same cost or more of LL.

This is honestly my own biggest dream ever since I started my unexpected journey of struggling with my height. This is also the only real way that we can conquer the unjust inequality of human heights and the millions of struggling men and women out there. I am somewhat confident that humanity at one point WILL find out how to restart growth in grown humans, with the advancements of science, computing power and technology, be it using transforming human tissue into growth plate tissue, successfully inserting artificially grown limbs, stem cell technology, nanobots or whatever possibility there is out there. It's very possible that we will only see these advancement in a couple of hundred years, but that doesn't stop me from hoping that the achievements will come until the end of my life. It's also why I have huge respect and admiration for the field of medicine, science and engineerging, even though I'm not a STEM person myself. But let's hope some very smart nerds will figure something out one day.

There is certainly a huge market for it, anyway. Millions of men would pay a lot of money to get taller, I'm sure. It's a possible billion dollar market, so the economic incentive would be there.

All these, if could ever happen, they won't in less than 30 years.
The only thing that can be done sooner is gene control so that infants would get genes that would lead them to become tall, more healthy etc. Something like eugenics. But even that is very hard because height has to do with many different genes so it is not easy to isolate the ideal ones.

Personally I only wish for now to have more, better and cheaper doctors with experience in LL and better nails, completely weight bearing and reliable that doesn't stop to work or bend etc.
If someone could do this surgery and in a week could walk normally and do his all day works without problem, then LL would have done a great step forward.
That's all I hope.
Anything else won't happen in the next 30-50 years, at least significant.

a injection of stem cells or botox in the soft tissues is probably not a bad idea
