BMI after Limb Lengthening
« on: June 05, 2017, 07:53:20 PM »

So how would one factor in BMI after they complete limb lengthening? Take an example where if someone goes from 171 cm and ended up at 189.5 cm 😉, would this guy put 171 cm for their BMI or 189.5 cm? Because he only lengthened his legs and not the whole body as one does naturally. At 171 cm 130 lbs is normal, but at 189.5 cm it's extremely anorexic. Does the added length have a significant contribution to ones weight or will their BMI not correlate with their new height?

No it doesn't.
Especially tibia lengthening should add at max 1kg to your weight no matter how much you lengthen.
In femurs where there are more muscles maybe you would add 2kg but no more.

So if you lengthen both segments you should not take more that 3-4 max kilos to be as thin as before LL. Anything more has for sure nothing to do with lengthening.
