I think we forget 1 fact
« on: March 12, 2017, 06:42:39 AM »

there is over 200+ LL done every year

if people had more problems there would be more forums like these and more people seeking help
that means most of the cases have great outcome right?

Unfortunately, that mindset often leads people to roll the dice and head to less developed countries

A great outcome is totally dependent on  what each person defines  as great. There can be no absolute ranking. The way I define great,  the % of great outcomes has to be lower than  5%

There is not 1 person active on this forum that I would classify as  having a great outcome. Don't try to delude yourself. This surgery is very   harsh on your body, and recovery is   extremely difficult.

and i keep thinking if alot of poeple had bad oucome we would see more here. 30 a month is alot for one Dr.

That video means absolutely nothing to me. The man is driving in his car saying he lives normally. Wonderful. I also have a normal life as do most  people who have had LL. We can walk, we can drive cars, etc.  Don't conflate that with a  great recovery

30  cosmetic LL a month is a lot. Rozbruch does not do 30  a month though. He has 1 or 2 surgery days a week.  If he does  3 cosmetic ll in any given month, I would be very surprised

So your telling me he does a 3.5 hour procedure at least once a day? When i see him next week ill be sure to correct your obvious error...

That's an optimistic mindset. No, it certainly doesn't mean that most cases have a great outcome - simply put, there isn't enough peer reviewed study to be able to definitively state one way or another or to even classify a 'great' outcome.

I think I can see the confusion that has occurred in this thread.

Cosmetic limb lengthening surgeries or surgeries in general? I imagine is referring to the latter, I believe 30 would be a reasonable amount. Bear in mind, Dr Rozbruch will perform countless different surgeries in relation to his work for countless different deformities/issues. Cosmetic limb lengthening will be a very small element of his day to day work and surgery - as to why I hold him in very high esteem.

Maybe top doctors have a more successful percentage. But the majority goes to the third world, that's why we see a bad outcome

You may recover sooner or later, you may walk normally after 6-8 months "this what i call it a great recovery"- others may just walk normally after 2-3 years. Both recovered but 2-3 years i will not call it a recovery. I try my best to afford for the best doctor, otherwise am not going to do this risky surgery.

If you are that concerned about recovery or potential complications Kaiser then I'd advise you just to forget about this surgery

It's important as well that people do not take advice off individuals who have never even done the operation.

I'm 6-7 months post op I have my frames of and I'm walking well enough, I only did 3cms though, I have aches and pains around where the pin sites were it will take a while for those to calm down.

No one on these boards barring people who have done this should be handing out advice! No one!
