Hey Rgkey, how old were you when you first underwent this surgery and how did you overcome all of the psychological anxiety/turmoil that ad up to and during the surgery e.g. what will I tell family/friends (where and why I'm a going away for so long?, job/school put on hold, and of course the hardest of them all .....what will I tell family and friends that noticed my marked height increase when i get back home?  These are the kind of tough questions I ask myself now as I'm a prospective LL patient and I still am ambivalent when it comes to an answer lol.     Anyways take care.

hi,
Thanks for a classic diary.
so, i read that you were friends with oksana, so i am aware of that, but since you are so active on the forum:
have you heard that there are financial problems for patients in the clinic?
that incomptent director oksana created all of the problems because she chose to not tell anybody about prices changing majorly and not telling patient until day before surgery?
she knew about hospital prices changing for 5 months and told nobody.
she knew about nails changing mid-july and told nobody.
Patients are extremely angry right now and the potential patients that bought flight tickets and got visas and bought everything else they need? they were not told about price changes that oksana withheld. if they dont have the extra budget they are gonna get f*** too.

incompetency should not hurt others

general questions about this experience:
are there good aspects: yes
are there problems: yes

I was 29.
Read all my diary i made videos about ur concerns.  Told everyone i just decided it to adventure in Russiax which was actually true, everyone thought it was because of a girl, or sonething like it. My height gains? No one really question it too much, some noticed it but not a big deal.

7.5cm affected my balance, agility, and endurance permanently.  Not much, but some.

The more you do, the more it affects you.  I don't think there really is a magic number.  It's all a matter of degree.

sorry to qoute such an old post, but isn't that based purely on your bone length anyway, like someone could do 7cm and it wont affect anything if they had super short tibia, but yeah i know your tib and femur were the same post op. that is obviously not a normal ratio but i understand it is acceptable if you care more about height.

with my 9cms boots, working out at the gym, they feel comfortable but i had them cuz i forgot my sneakers, i though i make a video to look how they look witht he mirrors in the gym

great to see  you with long tibia and lifts, as we know lifts make yoru tibia appear even longer!

we are both in the same boat, i plan to wear lifts post op. as well.

i consider myself a shoe lift expert, i think your estimation on the height you get out of them is incorrect, not your fault, the advertised gain isn't the actual height gain, it is just the measured heal.

usually the most you'd get out of a big elevator shoe like that is 6cm compared to the floor, but in comparson to a regular shoe it would be 4cm as a standard shoe gives 2cm anyway.

so i would estimate you go from 172.5 to 176.5 via the shoe lift, if you were to state your barefoot height, which you should.

i know you've been asked this a few times as well but could you reveal your wingspan, i just want to see how my arms would look after my LL and 4cm lifts.

this will help me decide if i do 4.5, 5.5 or 6.5cm.

overall i think your short arms are acceptable when you are in your lifts, my lifts wil give 4cm so i need to take that in account when doign my LL.

are you planning to fix your bowed leg?

what was the cause for this?

why wasn't it fixed when you had frames on?

I actually wanted to know about this too.

On a side note, how is your athletic life nowadays?

RGKEY this diary is huge, can you maybe provide a summary of the bowed legs issue, at what point did it happen, what made it happen, if you could put that on the first post as well that would be useful for anyone reading this as it's important.

why do you insist that all shoes give you a 2cm lift.. it is so untrue.. i do not have one pair of shoes that add 2cm to my height.. the only time i get 2cm or more is when i wear work boots.. dont say that all normal shoes add 2cm because it is giving people false information.. i even proved to you with 3 different pairs of my shoes in which none of them added 2cm to my height.. but you still insist that all shoes add the same which is such rubbish information.. and the 'shoe lift expert' comment is an absolute joke..

damn dude, your legs are pretty bad,  both of them... you say fix your leg, but both legs are bad.. both legs are badly bent. your left leg looks worse, but the right one isnt  good either... your left tibia is all out of shape, and the left fibula is warped.  basically, all the bones in your leg are deformed.

its really bad, actually... i cant believe how deformed your legs are to be honest.... they look worse  now compared to before. there had to be more bending since you took off frames

im kind of  in disbelief  to be honest... i cant imagine you walking normally now ... i couldnt walk normally with my deformity, and that was one leg... i had deformity in 2 planes though, so its possible that caused me more issues, but your legs are beyond bad

i really cant imagine you walking now... id like to see video of how you  currently walk

Sorry I don't like to repeat my self. If you can not go through a huge diary to answer ur own question, i wont do it for u or for anyone, im no bodies dad lol

My walk ia good and i started training judo but bc of muscle soreness i stopped. It's your choice to believe what u want to believe. I walk fine dance etc normal. But i hate my bowed leg lol it does not look good. Its not about the deformity its about the axes. My right leg looks fine the doctor told me its fine the axes are fine but not for my left. But apparently there are many doctors in these forum lol
I have appointment thia tuesday with specialist will see what he says.... wish me luck

yes, the right leg does look fine.. its just your left leg that looks bad.. but its true that to someone that isnt a doctor that x rays can be misleading, thats why we ask how ur walking is.. main thing is your feeling fine.. its more the long term u may need to think about.. good luck

rgkey you say that because deep down you only want to believe what you want to believe. sometimes people only find or see what they choose to see.

both your legs are messed up. look the mechanical axis middle of the knee cap to middle of the ankle is not even running through the bone for your right leg. that is completely crazy. I bet you alter your gait to accommodate this.

the right leg is not fine

dont need to be a dr to see it's deformed and bent...

the tibia and fibula are deformed on both legs, not just the left

its impossible that your gait is fine....  stop lying to yourself.. that is why your legs are even worse now

look at the  bottom of your fibula on the right leg, its warped.... look at the tibia.....its also noticeable bent,... its just that compared to your left leg, its not as bad

i dont know how anyone can look at that x ray and say your right leg looks fine.

youve had this  now for awhile.   need to fix as soon as possible

The right leg could be fine, just being put in an awkward position because it has to compensate for the left leg's deformity.

the right leg fibula is bent at the bottom... thats not caused by his posture... its a very acute bend, which then goes in the opposite direction

the same for the tibia...the tibia goes one way, then bends in the opposite direction, horizontally... that is not caused by his posture

im sure mr bones can  post a photo showing where the bend is... its pretty obvious though, on the upper right tibia

I haven't read much from this forum. Rgkey is that your xray? Man, that's gonna affect your gait and possibly many other things in the long run.

You should talk to that Dr. from California maybe he can help.

We'll see tomorrow when specialist examines me.
No offense but i would only believe a doctors opinion over anyone elses assumptions. As Dr. Barinov told me when talking about indian doctors: "even the worst doctor for LL in the world will know more than any patient" i completely agree. The first orthopedic doctor told me right leg is fine left is not. Im also posting my xray. Now, you decide what to do with the information i provide, i can careless what you think or what you do with it. My only intention is to provide with information that i would love to have had before i did leg lengthening. Im living my life, doing my thing, im the man, every one who knows me knows that. And after LL life is for sure better even with my bowed leg, but not for long. If doctor tells me right leg needs to be fixed then i will fix it too. I also sent my xrays to Dr. Barinov. He is on vacations right now so i will wait to see what he says. But my right leg looks the same as when i finished LL. Most people post correction look like that, not statight bones, he says it's normal, "what do you want? Straight bones or straight looking legs?" My right legs looks a little bend because i had correction done on that leg as well, i had a little bowed legs to start with.
so for all the experts of leg lengthening,  take the information i provide and do whatever the F..k u want to do with it, but for future Lengtheners, dont let ur self be fooled by peoples assumptions of the truth, specially when they have nothing to back it up with but their opinions that are base on unreliable sources. Im not expert that is why if i answer anything about LL, other than my own experience, do not take it as the last word, as the truth, I can only give my opinion and my own reference experience. I say this because wvery day i get emails from people asking me questions that should be asked to doctors not to me.
One more time. I did 9 cms,  in about 10 months, life post LL is awesome, but life was always awesome anyway. I walk fine, lift weights, do martial arts, dance, have plenty of sex, can run but nor for long and dont even try anymore. I stopped using lifts, just sometimes, but honestly i feel the same with or without so i quit them lol
That is all for now guys, ill be posting more after tomorrow. I was away from the forums cuz you know i have a life to live and is addicting. I tickle the idea of doing femurs but i feel good now with my height and proportions. Im making money, plans to travel, enjoy life etc.. we'll see what doctors says tomorrow, maybe he tells me my legs need to be cut off for good lol i promise to post pictures of that!
