If you bend or snap a Precice 2 nail?
« on: September 28, 2016, 03:26:10 PM »

1.  What happens if you bend or snap a Precice 2 nail in one of your legs if you accidentally put too much weight on it or if you have a fall which puts excessive stress on the nail?

2.  Will you have to have a new surgery to put in a new nail?

3.  Would you have to pay the entire sum again, or only for one nail?

4.  How would this affect the amount already lengthened?

Some answers to your questions are listed below:

1.  What happens if you bend or snap a Precice 2 nail in one of your legs if you accidentally put too much weight on it or if you have a fall which puts excessive stress on the nail?  It would take a good deal of force to bend the Precice Nail. More likely, you could affect the mechanical functions of that nail or any other mechanical nail, like the Fitbone with excessive force placed upon the device. It is best to always follow the directions of the limitations of the device for optimal results.

2.  Will you have to have a new surgery to put in a new nail? In serious cases you would have to exchange the nail for a new implant that would effectively continue the lengthening process.

3.  Would you have to pay the entire sum again, or only for one nail? This would be determined prior to your having surgery. Additional implants usually incur additional expense.

4.  How would this affect the amount already lengthened? It should not effect the lengthening process if caught in time and the replacement nail implanted.
