Hi there.

I was pretty active here some time ago. I had a surgery planned for this month but I cancelled it.
Since the cancellation I had ups and downs. I decided to ask family and close friends with ties to get info on this thing from various sources which do not include the internet. So here is what I managed to discover.

Dr.Guichet: Through family in france with ties with official in health ministry I was able to discover that guichet left France because he had to. He was actually facing ALOT of lawsuits because of people he fked up. The guy can no longer work as a doctor in France.

Dr.Paley: Through family friends in Toronto (where he began), he started to work at "sick-kids" hospital. After facing a couple of law suits for malpractice, the guy came in terms with the hospital to "leave by his own will". He went to Baltimore where after a couple of years he was also forced to leave. After he went to Florida which is the only state (To my knowledge) that does not have malpractice insurence for docs which means that he can legally fk you up.

Dr.Pilli: through info from Prof.Montanari (Head of Ilizarov unit at Rizzoli institute of bologna which is considered one of the most advanced orthopedic centers in the world). The guy is a con artist. He is a "persona non grata" in Rizzoli hospital. The guy made alot of pubblicity for himself. Luckily for him, because he is only operates in a private hospital, the patients who get fked up can't do nothing because of how Italian medical-legal system works.

This is pretty much a summery of what I have learned. You can believe me or not... It's up to you... I post it because I care for many people here. Some are decent nice people, some are complete nutjobs and others are self loathing.
I wish that each one of you will make a decision that he will feel 100% with.

Best regards to all

Interesting post man, about Pili is he still associated with Dr Catagni? Has there been anything specific about him?

So now you are sure of your choice ?
Have you learned something about Catagni?

About Dr. Guichet. I was interested in him before so I read a lot of information on him in the French forum (like doctissimo) and I know that in his first years of activity (2006-2008 from my remembrances) he has had several accidents and many complaints. Now accidents must reflect on the causes, because there is a heavy work to be done after the operation. And if it is not done, it is not surprising either.

Leg lengthening straddles the line between voluntary amputation and conventional cosmetic surgery. The way some doctors sell it is sick. It takes a certain sort of person to do that, so these stories aren't surprising.

Wow, Guichets website is gross. It shows a woman "3 months" after multiple tendon lengthenings and a 10CM (!!) femur gain RUNNING along holding the OLYMPIC torch. Anyone that reads the diaries knows this is so far off reality it's not funny.

I don't think Dr. G would lie about this because it was publicized in the news as well.  I don't remember the website, but I do remember he actually had the newspaper article framed in his office.  Found the story online:

I dont think he lie, it's just someone who have very good result.
What I would like to know is whether the incidents has directly to do with the operation or further operations. In the first case it is much more worrying.

Almost all the surgeons have stuff like that on their websites. You should see the spam email I now get from Dr. Mahboubian after I contacted him. Me thinks someone took a marketing class or two, lol. Definitely plays on height insecurities.

Anyway, my last post here. After speaking with TIBike200 frequently outside of this forum (we are the same height), I've realized that my height is not really that bad. I'm 5'7 or close to 5'8, and that is good enough.

I've got a hot wife, cute kids, 2 thriving businesses, over a million in the bank (well, on the balance sheet anyway), I'm respected in my community, I've never lacked female attention, black on black SL400 in the driveway, etc...

So some 6' guys and some women might think I am short? Since when do I give a rat's a** what anyone thinks, especially a woman? I'm richer than most those 6' guys, and there are plenty of women who don't care about my height. (I know, I've banged plenty of them)

I have the will and the means to change my life anytime I want.

It's going to take some time to put height neurosis behind me, no doubt. But I just saved myself $100,000 on LL, so I'll just keep going to my shrink, lol. (besides, give me the $200,000 that Iamready spent with Paley and 15 years, I'll turn it into $2 million)

I wanted to thank TIBike200, DIFM, and Alu for being voices of reason. Good luck guys.

Now i'm gonna block this forum on all my devices, and work on purging thoughts of height from my head.

All LL surgeons have legal problems. This is a shady practice for con artists and people with no morals.

I want to add something. Paley's team operated wrong limb recently and he didn't assume his responsability.

Quote
The first complaint alleges that on Sept. 13, 2012, a 9-year-old boy, identified only by the initials R.S., came to St. Mary's to have a metal plate inserted in his right ankle to stabilize it. Paley is accused of failing to ensure the device was put in the proper leg.

Paley challenged the allegation in documents filed with the state. He said he instructed his surgical fellow beforehand to place the plate in the boy's right ankle.

The second complaint involves a 5-year-old boy, referred to by the initials F.W., who on Jan. 21, 2013, arrived at St. Mary's to have a rod removed and a plate inserted in his left knee.

At the time, Paley was supervising a surgical team that "routinely performed simultaneous surgical procedures on separate patients in multiple surgical suites," the complaint says.

The state claims Paley successfully took out the rod then handed the boy off to physician assistant to prep the child for the insertion of a device, about the size of a paper clip and shaped like an 8, commonly used to treat an abnormality.

Paley meanwhile "rotated to a different operating suite" to tend to another patient, the complaint states.

The physician assistant prepped the inner side of the boy's left knee instead of the top part, the state said.

The assistant then passed the boy off to a surgical fellow "who had just rotated in from a third, unrelated surgical procedure, in a third simultaneously operating surgical suite," according to the Health Department complaint.

The surgical fellow inserted the so-called "8-plate" on the wrong side of the boy's left knee.

State regulators assert that Paley "is responsible and legally liable" for the care given to the boy.

In a written response filed with the Health Department, Paley said only one other procedure — not several — was taking place at the time of the surgery and that he was in the room when a physician assistant removed the rod from the boy's leg.

Paley acknowledged that the physician assistant inserted guide wires for the 8-plate on the wrong side of the boy's left knee, but said the whole leg had been prepped earlier and he had instructed the surgical fellow to insert the device on the top or "lateral" side of the knee.

Paley denied he was legally responsible for the actions of the physician assistant and said "he did not perform, attempt to perform, or prepare the patient for a wrong-site procedure."

An administrative judge will hear Dr. Paley's defense and issue a ruling. The Board of Medicine makes the final decision. It could impose penalties ranging from a reprimand to revocation of his license to practice medicine.

We all know about Monegal's shady practices through LLuser1. Monegal lied to everybody and fked up some patients because he is nexperienced. He's lucky because Musicmaker lied to everybody about her condition (her case would have been the beginning and the end of his career) and doesn't want to sue him. Patients like Cooper are preparing lawsuits though because he was screwed by Monegal. His name should be added to the list.

A thread should be created so that people can share information about LL lawsuits for people screwed by these doctors. Prospective patients should read too and be conscious of what they are getting into.

It's funny, this guy (Pricess) keeps saying that he was martyred by Catagni but never gave details. Already it does not respond any private message he posted just when TBIKE had to have surgery (he resigned). After that he has been away a long time (sacred chance). If he wants us to believe, we will have more details. I can believe but not like that
To this day I do not think any person has been disabled for life on the forum on LL forum, it would be a first. Even more amazing is that it comes from a doctor who usually has good results

And then I imagine an absence, no response then any future recurrence of a topic to post a message in which he repeated that he is handicapped without giving details. Someone who would really handicapped take more time to try to get us out of our head diabolical plan (I hope). I am not saying that this is a fake profile, but if it is one that is very sad.

Why is it not worth it? I am 5ft5, I want to be 5ft8 and have the money, time and mental strength to go through this. The idea of being 2/3 inches taller seems amazing and something that I wouldn't have even dreamt of.

Why did you find it not worth it?

It's simple, there are members that are unable to do this surgery for whatever reason and they want to feel better by saying they don't need or want it. There are tonnes of people that have done this surgery and have moved on and they can't be bothered to refute their claims.

Just use this site as a resource and make up your own mind, ignore those people that literally add nothing but their own insecurities.

I forgot to post this before I left. This is an email from my personal attorney, whom I paid a few hundred bucks to research medical malpractice in Florida. Thought it might be useful...

*Start of email*

"Dear XXXXX,

Here is what I found concerning medical malpractice suits in the state of Florida;

“(4) The Legislature is cognizant of the changing trends and techniques for the delivery of health care in this state and the discretion that is inherent in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients by different health care providers. The failure of a health care provider to order, perform, or administer supplemental diagnostic tests shall not be actionable if the health care provider acted in good faith and with due regard for the prevailing professional standard of care.
1(5) A person may not give expert testimony concerning the prevailing professional standard of care unless the person is a health care provider who holds an active and valid license and conducts a complete review of the pertinent medical records and meets the following criteria:
(a) If the health care provider against whom or on whose behalf the testimony is offered is a specialist, the expert witness must:
1. Specialize in the same specialty as the health care provider against whom or on whose behalf the testimony is offered; or specialize in a similar specialty that includes the evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment of the medical condition that is the subject of the claim and have prior experience treating similar patients; and

2. Have devoted professional time during the 3 years immediately preceding the date of the occurrence that is the basis for the action to:
a. The active clinical practice of, or consulting with respect to, the same or similar specialty that includes the evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment of the medical condition that is the subject of the claim and have prior experience treating similar patients;
b. Instruction of students in an accredited health professional school or accredited residency or clinical research program in the same or similar specialty; or
c. A clinical research program that is affiliated with an accredited health professional school or accredited residency or clinical research program in the same or similar specialty.”

In layman’s terms, this means that in the state of Florida, in order to file suit against a physician specialist, you would need a comparable expert witness to testify against Dr. Paley in open court. This physician specialist would have to have comparable credentials to Dr. Paley.

You would have to have someone that specializes in adult leg lengthening (not necessarily cosmetic) testify against him and PROVE that he did the operation incorrectly and that a mistake was made that directly caused whatever the grievance is.
By your admission, Dr. Paley is the most experienced physician specialist in his field. It is unlikely that you would find another specialist that would testify against him. If you did, who would the court believe?

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
XXXX XXXXXX"

*end email*

Goodbye everyone.

You know what is funny? OP -who supposedly "ruled LL out"- is currently spreading his height dysphoria at the old forum. And do you know what is even more funny? This thread, which makes serious accusations with no supporting evidence against a lot of doctors, and that is a lawsuit waiting to happen, is now pinned to the top of this forum.

All my respect to the people who, after weighing pros and cons, decide against this surgery and move on with their lives. But LOL hard at all these "LL dropouts" who feel the need of backing up their choice by returning here to post these "warnings".

1) Some people here know I am still around because I am lurking

2) If you actually read my first paragraph of this post or what I wrote on my cancellation thread you would be able to see that I havent said that I have been "cured" of my height dysphoria.

3) This post, like the one before is not against LL but sharing information I gathered (How can I show proof of things people told me?) and I wrote that you can believe me or not since I dont care.

4) I am not trying to convince anyone to not do LL or to accept their height (I never spoke about pros and cons)

5) I have decided to stop posting stuff here or to read anything besides this thread or the few believable diaries since all the rest is talks from Height BDD people which only fuel more the BDD from which we are all suffering.

6) You like 99.9% of people here would not do LL not because anyone is trying to convince you not to or anything like that, but because just like the rest of the 99.9% of people here, you are either below 20 or mentally ill.

7) about posts on old forum? No height disphoria, just me asking why a guy goes on a second round of LL (which is pretty rare) when a member here who got to the same height decided no to

The BDD is strong with you if you take this post from me, which is only directed in order that future LLers will make a right choice which would save them their money and their bodies,  as a way for me to convince others (and myself) that LL is a scam.
Go to Sringari or Sarin since they are reccomended by many.

Overreaction much?  It's painfully obvious that you still very actively follow the forums and are still thinking about LL.  You even said so in the old forum.  Despite all you said awhile back about how you *realized* LL wasn't worth it and had too much risk.  You literally said the it was the "wisest decision I could have" and "my definitive departure from this forum and height complex"

Just admit that you've either changed your mind or haven't gotten over it dude.  Otherwise, like Ozymandias is saying, you are just coming across as, at best, self-serving to justify your prior decision or at worst, hypocritical.  When your best response is calling him an idiot, it only further proves the point.

Don't loose your time insulting each other. In my opinion Tinike is right. He took a good decision. People who decide not to legnthen might continue to have height neurosis but believe me its much worse when people regret having had the surgery. I have met many of these people. Their situation is so bad (permanent sequels, multiple surgeries) that they regret it a lot.
Risks are many, you can't avoid them not even if you go to the best doctors. If you go to bad ones...jesus. Many people arent telling the truth about their results and they will have to be operated by other surgeons. Waste of time, money and worst of all time of their precious life. Doctors who practice LL are most of them unethical.

Are these people who took a cheaper option for a less qualified doctor/facility? Or are these patients from top doctors like paley and guichet?

I am talking about those who went to less qualified doctors, but there are people having sequels and regretting this surgery even from top doctors. Less qualified doctors should be avoided because your chances of being fked up are  higher. Many people regret choosing them instead of Paley just to save a few bucks.

And about me creating a clone account called pricess, no... Its not me.... It is stupid idiotic family friends who wanted to scare me off (And sadly succedded).

Dang that's kind of messed up if true (not blaming you though).  I get that your friends are just trying to help convince you not to do this crazy surgery because they care, but they also slandered catagni's reputation with that fake account's story...

I haven't said anything about it earlier since I only got to know about it three days ago... And since I never ever lied or spread false info on this forum, I kept the same line and decided that it was best to reveal that, so people wont decide against a doctor solely based on a false claim.
I did got enraged like a demon though. Because it completely destroyed my momentum... I stopped smoking precisly for the procedure and after seeing that post, I got completely pannicked so I resumed smoking...
