Why do you want to have a CLL surgery?
« on: March 02, 2016, 09:30:10 PM »

I mean what is the main reason? Sports? Dating? Job? feeling inferior? Want to be average? Etc...

For me, the main reason is that I want to be tall. Netherlands average male height is 185 cm(highest in the world). So I think being 190 cm will be considered tall in every country in the world(I know, it's kind of stupid reason, but at least I'm being honest :p )

Please be honest

we can't do this for sport and except if you are very short it is not either for girls -if you do it for women you are idiots-
we all have an inferiority complex
but me i think this is for aesthetic

176 is a good height everywhere, a lot of Dutch are under 185 (i have doubt about this average - how can there be such a difference with neighboring countries such as Belgium ?) and in some case 190 is not "tall" (for example a basketball player) but aesthetically if think 185-190 cm is the best height (a model height) so i understand you
I have a question, how did you talk about with your family? because you are not small (average), so what they think ?

Basically this. Short average sounds so much better than short. Also to stop driving myself nuts by comparing myself to literally every person I see.

Well, I kind of agree with you on sports, but i still think some athletes would do the surgery with a good doctor if they knew that the recovery will be %90-95.

As for the Netherlands average height, its 185 cm in most of the webpages/sources I found on the internet, here is an example:
http://www.averageheight.co/average-male-height-by-country

And believe me when I say 176cm is not good in Netherlands, I have been to Netherlands once, Wherever I went(Shopping mall, airport, etc...) I was one of the shortest if not the shortest guy in there.

As for your question, I am 26 years old, so I am not dependent on my parents anymore, I can do whatever I want. But even if I were to ask for their opinion on the surgery, I am sure %100 that all of family would be against it even if I was a dwarf, this is just how they think(accept your self etc...)

I don't know why you say *obvious*. I mean I want to have CLL to become tall, but you want to do the surgery so that you would not be considered short anymore. If you were average would you still do CLL?

But still, that meme is 10/10  ;D

It´s quit obvious that you don´t know much about this surgery, otherwise you would´t have a goal of 15cm´s. It will ruin your proportions, will cost you a lot of money and will destroy your ability to perform sports on a decent level. I dont´t want you to offend you but forget 15cm´s, it´s just unrealistic.
My goal is to become slightly above average, so I´ll do 4cm´s to become 183. I don´t think that it will improve my job chances or my sucess with girls (besides the tall girls), I  want to do it for myself mainly.

Its true that I don`t know about the surgery as much as you do, but 15cm is reasonable imo. Didn`t apotheosis do more than 15cm? Then why cant I?
my femurs and tibia are longer than his, I can lengthen 15 cm and still be within the safe limits (%15-20 of the bone length right?)
As for proportions, I don`t really give a damn cuz Height>>proportions for me.
Cost a lot of money is subjective, I am not filthy rich but I can afford surgeries with prices like Dr.mangal parihar or Dr.ghassan salameh prices.

But I want to ask you a question, why would you do an invasive expensive surgery just to add 4cm? my older brother is 3cm taller than me and people can hardly tell that he is taller than me, unless we stand face to face. Even my parents didn't know who is taller till we stood against each other.

He can't run, proportionally is screwed for life, had to do arm lengthening to look normal, and will probably experience future problems.

Soooooo yeah...he's not in any shape a model figure to look up to..

Considering your lack of knowledge I doubt you'll ever do all 4 segments...if at all...

Well he did lengthen like 20cm, I'm only lengthening 15cm.
I have longer femurs and tibia bones than his.
I will never need to bother with AL because I literally have monkey arms. Anyway, I don't  really care much about proportions in the first place, as I said in my original post, I mainly care about height, I'm neither a model nor a celebrity.

You probably remember the tallest nba player right? Manute Bol? This guy got bad proportions, but I really wouldn't mind having the same proportions if I could be as tall as him.

I've never been in Netherlands but what I know is that in Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia people are not so tall
It still amazes me what you say, because the country is filled with tourists - especially an airport -

No I'm not Dutch
It's true, I saw many tourists or maybe immigrants in Amsterdam, but I wasn't talking about these guys, When I said what I said in my previous post I excluded:
-Women
-Asians and Africans
-Old people(who looked 60+ years old)

Well he did lengthen like 20cm, I'm only lengthening 15cm.
He did 20,and you will ONLY lengthen 15 cm?Just 15?Come on its not worth it for 15 cm.Go something like 20-25.Break the record.
ROFL
Anyways get some information about this and you will want to do less.Im not blaming you, every person wants to do as much as possible when they first hear about this and with time they lower their goals.

Are you sure this is not a result of your height neurosis ?
And even if dutch guys are tall, it's not important. Dutch girls have a normal height and you don't live in this country
if old people of shorter, it's worst because the average is maybe more important for young

and about  15 cm, people try to scare you
do a first operation, but don't rush and choose a very good doctor
but i think 185 cm is a very good height, no ?

as for the height you put barriers everywhere
you think only 1 or 2 cm will make things more or less dangerous?
5-6 cm is safe with a good doc
about proportion you must of course talk to your doctor
and for sport, of course it's going to weaken you but with a good doctor I dont think it makes disabled
Betz don't care about recovery, he thinks about result only

Maybe I will become less optimistic about CLL, but I doubt that I will ever lower my goal. Actually 15cm is the minimum. originally I was planning to do like apo(20cm).

Thanks for your advice, but I doubt that I will stop at 185cm, I want to be at least 190cm.

It´s your choice but I don´t think you´ll ever reach 190, you´re just unrealsitic about your goals. A minimum of 15cm is an icredibly bad idea, everyone who has done LL will tell you that.

Why reaching 190cm is unrealistic? in most of the diaries I read people lengthened around 7cm in each surgery. So if I lengthen 6.5 tibia and 7.5 femur, I will reach 190cm.

Because doing one surgery is one thing. Doing two surgeries is completely different. You can't just combine two diaries of single surgeries and then think that you can end up with the same results. You should pay attention to Iamready's diary. His diary is probably closer to what you can realistically achieve. But you can do 15 cm. Just don't expect a good recovery. Expect to be in a wheelchair or crutches or have really weak legs for a very very long time.

True, and that in the best of cases, if you go to a good surgeon like you did. If you choose a bad one and do such amounts you will never recover.

I am the same height as you are right now and I am telling you, your plan is extremely stupid.

To do 15 cm through 2 operations would be, did I say that, ridiculously bad idea. Not because it cannot be done and not because you cannot at least in the long run, recover most of your athetilc abilities. It is because it is not worth it !

There is so much more to life than height. I would understand you if you want to be about the average or even above the average. Thats why I wanna go from 175 to 180-182, havent decided exactly. But to 190 ? No way. Because nobody will perceive you better at 190 than at 182-3. There are other aspects that can make you attractive. For example:

Do you have a six pack ? Even if you do, you will not after the first surgery ?
Do you have a top job, education ?
Do you have nice clothes  ? Nice car ?

A smart think for you would be to do about 7 cm in one surgery...
Quite radical but within the boundaries of reason would be to do like 5 + 4 ...
anything more would drastically destroy your proportions, your athetic abilities, maybe your finances....

one last time. Being taller than 182-183 has no advantage whatsoever unless you wanna be a basketball player or volleyball player. The range 180-185 is considered the best height for athletes. Cristiano CRonnie7 who is arguably the most attractive football player is 185 and is considered very tall. Why the hell would you go through so much pain to be 190 ?

same here!!, wanna go from 173 to 179. At 173 i am shorter than 70% of the population within the 20-30 age group, at 178+ i am right at the 50+ percentile, for me that is an improvement, i will take it.But looking at current flexibility......maybe even 2 itches would be hard, idk. I am not trying to be super greedy or "tall" .

I can't for the life of me understand why someone who isn't living in Holland would care about being as tall as the average Dutchman.

Wait? You are not even dutch but care about the average heigh there?  ;D
Man that is on hell of a stupid reason to become 190, accept 183 thats the most you can get out one surgery (8cm´s on your femurs equal to a gain of about 7cm´s). You will probably even regret doing this much on one segment  :P.
I though you were from the netherlands. You should focus on things you can actually acciev, don´t waste your precious time on thinking how to destroy your legs just to become an akward looking, unproportionate 190 guy.
