Last week, i took one hour of my time to calculate the average height on a big dating website in a a few european countries, i only considered white young men, but to be honest, there are not much differences between non white men included or not included.
This is what i have found:
-Spain:177.5 cm
-Ireland/France/UK/Switzerland : 179 cm
-Belgium/Austria:180 cm
-Germany/Norway :181-182 cm
-Denmark/Sweden:182 cm
-The netherlands:184 cm
for each of those countries, i had large samples (10 000 to 100 000 profiles).
However many men lie, so i compared those results with official and reliable datas:
In switzerland, the average height for conscripts is 178 cm, and i found 179 cm.
In Norway and denmark, the average height for conscripts is like 180-180.5 cm , and i found 181.5 cm
So those results are pretty close to real figures, in fact, we just have to remove 1 cm, or 1.5 cm at most, and you find the the same results as the offcial ones.
It just shows 2 things: the average height in central and nothern europe (except the netherlands) is not above 183 cm.
Southern europeans are not tiny.
So What do you think? If you live in one of those country, tell me if you think the results are accurate biased.
In my opinion, living in France and having no datas since 2000 , i would say that it's pretty accurate
