My mock-up
« on: January 27, 2016, 09:14:17 PM »

Hey guys,

So, I decided to post some mock-ups.

On the left side its me with my normal height of 175.5 cm, in the middle there is + 4.5 in the tibia for a total of 180 and on the right there is + 4.5 on the femur as well for a grand total of 184.5.

Which one do you think looks best ? I think that proportion wise the one in the middle is really good, the question is, can I pull the third one. My Wingspan is 182.

http://s24.postimg.org/s84zrciad/mock_up_2.jpg

P.S

Just to add that I am currently 69kg and plan to bulk to around 75 before the 1st surgery.

You should take your socks off, pull your trunks up a bit and take the picture from hip height.

Socks make tibs look shorter, as do trunks.

I would do 5-6 on one portion and be done.

I think your legs look too long after 9cm.. But you could pull it off in front of the untrained eye.. Also if you bulk up it will look better. Stick to 5-6cm on one portion and be done though.

I thought about the socks and I figured, they dont make that much of a difference, plus I almost always will be wearing socks. I think that with clothes it will look OK, especially with a t-shirt or a blouse that naturally gives the allusion that my torso is bigger/legs are shorter.

In 2-3 months when I am 4-5 kg heavier, I wil post another mock up, this time without socks and another one with clothes.

I guess there is no value to push it thoughand I will most likely stop with the picture in the middle. i think it looks well, especially with clothes. I wouldnt do more than 4.5 in my tibia though. I think LL is a great thing if used correctly and people do not overdue it. And in my case even though I think 9cm, as Deeds say, especially with clothes, might look fine, I think its pushing it too much. I might also do 2 x 4 instead of 2 x 4.5. I am really curious how it would look like when I bulk up.

from my point of view, just do tibias. You look better with the tibias than even your normal photo (and let's not talk about the tibia+femurs photo).

yeah at this point Femurs are far in the future. Besides, at 180 it is very likely I wouldnt bother further.

Did you get your legs measured by x-ray yet? The 4,5cm pic looks fine imo, the socks make it slightly harder to judge though. 9cm's are too much, 9cm's is just too much to look acceptable on anyone.
I'd only do 4cm's if I was you, the 0,5cm won't be noticed but this way you would decrease your recovery time by quit a bit.

Thanks for the input. I would say that if one does 5 cm and becomes 170..he could do 4, 5 even 6 more, there is a trade-off between proportions and height. If u are 165 initially you might be more inclined to sacrifice proportions, recovery..but if you become 180 I think you are right and it is not worth it anymore.

What will you say on me becoming 176? Should I sacrifice my proportions?

Do 6.5cm on tibias, and it takes you to 182 (~6') which is above average around the world and at least average in the northern europe. No point having two trauma to your legs.

That is what I decided to do, however, I will do 6 cm or 7 cm on the Femurs. I will post later a mock up to see how it goes. I will most likely go with Dr. Mahboubian in Los Angeles.

What is your sitting height? You are quite leggy. To be honest If I were you I would't do LL at all. You don't have proportions to do it. You are not short anyway. Average but not tall.

Your mock-ups make me sad because I have similar height and I realized that I should't do LL. Now I am only inclide to do correction. Nevertheless, everything above 175 is ok.

The same with Descreteuser. I saw his pictures and I think that he now looks much worse thatn before surgery. Now he looks fairly cartoonish.

I appreciate your opinion but I will still proceed with the surgery. As I said, I will most likely to 6-7 cm on my femurs. I don't believe that proportions can be damaged with that single amount on the femurs. I would agree though that 9 cm even with 2 surgeries would be too much.

It is just that nobody really cares about proportions from the outside world. I ve never seen anybody commenting that somebody has long legs and now I am part of LL Forumorum I can tell when somebody has abnormally long legs and if I ask somebody what they think they are just like - oh I ve never thought about that. So, unless somebody does a ridiculous amount of LL, like 15 +, I dont't think proportions for the untrained eye would be an issue.

Could you reveal us your sitting height measurement? I am very curious.

I was thinking the same thing when i saw his new body.I cant explain it but something just looks a bit off.He passed his wingspan just 5 cm but still it looks weird.I wouldnt say cartoonish but weird.Im not sure if its about wingspan maybe its about his upper body, what do you think?

Come on guys, Descreteuser was 180 cm and he just did 4 cm. That is basically the very definition of doing safe amount - both out of health and out of proportion concerns ;)

Yes, you are right. I am exaggerating a little bit. He looks just weird. I don't understand him but it was his decision. He was quite tall and he sacrificed his proportions for being tall but looks off for me.

I think it is the wingspan thing. There are plenty of people with low sitting height but with long limbs and it looks completely normal. Long arms are more important than sitting height imo but Descreteuser have neither of them.

There are more diaries on Paley then Mahboubian...

Also he is slightly cheaper than Paley. But then again if you're gonna spend that much, might as well save a little more for Paley

Regarding wingspan, I am 175 cm tall and have a wingspan of 181 so I think I would be ok if I do 6 or 7.

You have to realize something about the US and that is, in the USA everybody advertises. Even the judges in the judicial system get elected by the people so they advertise like crazy, and some of the ads are...disturbing. Something that I like about the doctor is that he seems perfectly fine with you going and spending 70k + lots of pain to become taller. I have the feeling that some doctors think that we are extremely stupid to do sth like that, whereas Mahboubian advertises and does not hide what the whole thing is about.

I read many diaries about dr Mahboubian and I have not come across a single one in which there were complications. People seem really happy. Furthermore, 3 years ago I had very risky but highly successful eye surgery in Los Angeles so from purely santimental reasons I will go there and will book the same hotel and if possible the same room :D

Mahboubian seems trustworthy in terms of medical expertise, but I'm still not in agreement as to how he handles advertisement. Besides that, considering he's in the U.S, the suing capital of the world, I'm sure he will be cautious.

Dr M was a half hour away from where I lived, but I could not bring myself to be a patient of his. It's not so much a matter of worrying about safety since he has more to lose if he started pulling a Dr Sarin (although he has way fewer years of experience than docs like Paley and Rozbruch). But his advertisements just make me want to tell him to f*** off. I mean it's one thing to advertise your practice, but it's another to advertise by targeting someone's insecurities so they'll be more inclined than usual to go through a drastic surgery such as leg lengthening. Dr Paley advertises in some ways, but he never put up an image of a little person holding a flower desperately trying to get approval from a tall woman who's ignoring him. Awful on a moral level, imo, especially considering the severity of complications one can encounter with leg lengthening.

Yes his surgery is cheap, but you will end up paying the same (~100k) because of the crazy hospital fee in US. Look at the patient's diaries.

As for advertisement, I am not sure what the others refer to here... Paley and Guichet advertise way more than him, and they are still the best doc in the two countries.

That is spot on but there is more to it. As I said, I am not viewing that as a sign that he is exploiting our insecurities. I am viewing it as a sign that he knows how we feel and he is letting us know that it is all right to feel that way, we are not alone, and he is there to make things right. That is how I understand it :)
Nevertheless, if he delivers results, and based on diaries he does, this is what is important to me :)
