How do you overcome this ty feeling?
« on: January 12, 2016, 05:31:40 PM »

I'm 170cm and I wear lifts so it makes me about 175cm... Almost everyday I go to college and can't not notice that almost every guy is higher than me, most of the girls wear heals or high shoes so they're my height or taller and I just feel so unattractive and like I'm not "special" and it makes me super sad.. It happens almost every day and I'm getting depressed =/
Do you know what I'm talking about? How do you overcome this feeling? I can't stand the feeling of being shorter than almost anyone :(

Not the best question to ask on a limb lengthening forum.

Your eye level makes it easier to exaggerate the heights of others and make yourself feel shorter. Was the case for me. I'd think some guys in my dorm were way taller than what they actually were, but when seeing them next to me in front of the mirror when brushing in the morning, I'd see that the height difference wasn't as big as I thought it was.

If you still feel like crap after gaining 5 cm in lifts though, then after doing 1 leg lengthening surgery you'll still probably wear lifts and feel self-conscious about it most of the time. That in turn might pressure you into doing a second surgery. Lots of pain, time, and money to commit to.

I plan on lengthening in the future when I have the money but right now I'm looking for a way to not feel so bad :/

You're also 170 after a surgery, are you now satisfied with your height?

I'm still shorter than average so I do think about height sometimes, but it's not nearly as bad as before. I think the first surgery was an absolute necessity for me. I'd be open to doing a second one, but I don't consider it a necessity and just think of it as a luxury that I'd commit to only if I had a bunch of time and money to spend.

Considering the context of you wearing 5 CM and still feeling short then my best advice would be to seek therapy.  Regardless of where you live and what you feel you experience, you clearly won't be to satisfied with even 175 CM after lengthening, leading you to keep wearing those lifts, which let's face it, isn't a cure.

You also have confirmation bias which would also be addressed in therapy. 5'7 isn't bad mate, I get if a natural 5'7 isn't too satisfied with that height but trust me you are in no way in a bad starting point.

I feel the same way. I am 178 and I feel that almost all guys in my college are taller than me but at least I sort of have the peace of mind that virtually 99% of girls are shorter and lets say 75% of the girls wearing heels are shorter (especially when I put on formal shoes with one inch of heel. Nevertheless, I will do LL to try to achieve 6 f and at that point really it doesnt matter anymore :)

To the op, at 170 starting, with two surgeries, 6cm tibia and 7 cm femur, within the bondaries of what is considered safe, you could also achieve 6 f

13cm´s are not safe. There is just no way that you can do 13cm´s and end up untouched by the results. Most people face issues if they exceed 5cm´s. Do one surgery on your femurs and lengthen 5-6cm´s. That´s my advice.

assuming that one could live / tolerate the new proportions, do you think 13 cm (6+7) will still be unsafe ?

I for example have a "nice" forhead. My eyes are something like 10-12cm below my actual height. I am 171cm and I see the world as if I am 160cm haha. Me to, when I stand near people I think that they are higher or slightly highier than me.. But when there is a mirror I can clearly see that  I am as tall and sometimes even taller. I am walking as a 175 in italy (with shoes plus the lifts) and to be honest, I dont feel very short (almost all of the girls are shorter than me). And as someone has said before, you might be focusing on the highier people and ignoring those who are shorter because of your height neurosis
