It might become more mainstream eventually, but it's always going to remain exclusive due to its high cost. Very few people are able to afford to do LL, both in terms of cost (money) and opportunity cost (time spent being disabled). This is unlikely to change in the near future.

The only way to make LL mainstream would be having an abundant number of full weightbearing internal nails in the market in competition with each other for customers.

More people may know about it but it will never become a mainstream surgery. I'd say making it more affordable and available to everyone who wants to get it on a whim would even endanger this type of surgery being available for cosmetic patients. All it takes is enough incompetent doctors crippling people for it to get serious attention from authorities. Was almost banned outright in China for that very reason.

It might become ''kinda famous''. I read an article which said that Dr. Guichet (an expert in performing LL) said that in the future it will be more acceptable as a cosmetic surgery and more people will be willing to do it.

PS, how tall are you by the way?
