Affect of Leg Lengthening on Horse Riding
« on: November 10, 2015, 06:02:16 PM »

Hello all,I am a German-Chilean 22yr old and I work on a ranch in Argentina. I am 179cm tall, which I understand is tall by Forum standards, yet has been a constant source of despair to me since the age 16.My father 185,my mother is 171,my brother is 191 and my sister at 176 is virtually my height. The nature of the context in which I live has resulted in this anxiety, which I understand is subjectively absurd. Regardless, the anguish which it causes me,means I could not face living my whole life in such a subordinate and inferior physical position. I also attended school in England, where the average height of my peers was approximately 182-84cm. I feel reluctant to stand in crowded environments and  am immediately uncomfortable when a majority of males in the proximity are taller than me, which happens frequently. For this reason I wish to embark on what I realise is a a painful, arduous and time-consuming process. As for Femur or Tibia I have not yet made a definitive decision, but I plan on a minimum of 4 and an absolute maximum of 6. When I wear running shoes to bring me up to 181cm I already feel a physical discrepancy between my seemingly overly long tibias and my Femurs, so I am leaning towards Femurs. My main question is directed towards veterans. Do you think lengthening Tibias or Femurs would impede Horse-Riding, an activity which forms a large part of my daily life? In the circumstances which segment would you recommend lengthening in order to reduce post-lengthening problems with mounting horses? Thank you for your time and apologies for my poor english
