Do not get a monorail. It has the highest probability of creating a major misalignment and thus pain/disability after consolidation.

You can cover monorail frames with clothes pretty easily.  But keep in mind you probably won't be able to walk normally.  You'll be really slow and using crutches or a walker, most likely.

You won't be able to bend your knees if doing monorail on femurs because the pins lock your muscles in place

If monorail is so bad and has so many complications of misalignment why do they still use it. I have been living in Colombia the last 2 years and there is a surgeon who does it who is highly respected and is constantly going to the states. Cleanliness and surgery is very high quality here especially since the plastic surgery here is so big. Is there any diaries of people on this forum with their experience of monorail on femurs with success or complications? The surgeon he has done hundreds of surgeries on lengthening and people with deformities and after accidents and has a great reputation

Yes, there is a diary of a girl who lengthened her femurs with monorails.  Her username is bluebarbie.  It's in the LON/LATN section.

Monorail do the job one way or another, ideally you have to put a nail at the end to correct the alignment.  Ilizarov is just better, full weight bearing, you can get a perfect alignment and no need for the nail.

Plating will give you huge scars.
