It could be as simple as feeling inferior to tall/taller men, and that women love tall men.

I made an observation the other day in Union Square (NYC). Although 50% of guys are over 5' 10", it seemed like 75% of guys holding a girls hand were over 5' 10".

This observation set off my height neurosis think tank again. The positive take away is that I would not want to associate with women who would only date a tall guy, so it filters out certain women for me.

I am below average where I live and 8-9CM shorter than my dad who in turn is the second shortest man in my whole family. Apparently this was enough to drive me towards lengthening my legs.

This pretty much sums up the story of my life ;DD. Expect that my das is 10-12 cm's taller than me.
It all depends on your environment, I'm pretty sure that I woudln't have a height neurosis If my dad and the males in my family were my height or shorter.

im 178... us average height people are going from average height to tall.. at your starting height you are going from extremely short to short at best.. we can argue that we will be happy after limb lengthening because we are now tall.. you on the other hand may still not be happy.. at the end of the day you will only be achieving a height that most people on this site complain about to begin with... now, im not saying you wont be happy, but all im saying is that we should all have equal rights to do this as whether we are average or short.. at the end of the day we are all achieving something..

Actually, I haven't had that many problems with girls because of height(although on one occasion I was told "if you grow taller, marry me".. mixed feelz about that one lmao) and I like everything else about myself. 8)

Plus I'm Indian and the average male height for my generation's like 5'7. Most girls here are 5'2 to 5'4. I've noticed that all of us(at least most of us) seem annoyed because we didn't reach our dad's height. My dad's 5'4.5 and when I get to 5'5 I'll be perfectly happy with it.

EDIT: For example after I do LL for 5'5, if I was magically guaranteed a free LL with no complications but it'd take 1 year of my time to reach 5'8 or something, I wouldn't do it.

you are kidding yourself.. you are 5 inches shorter than the average which is extremely short.. and you are saying you dont have a problem with women? thats a load of bull.. if your life is so good.. than why bother? everyone that does this does it for some sort of social aspect.. so you saying that you are just doing it surpass your fathers height, is you just lying to yourself.. if you have no social problems, than dont bother, because if your lying to yourself now, it means you dont have the mental capability for such a process.

Right now I am indeed very short, but after LL I won't be. At 2 inches less than average with a lot of great things I love about myself, I'm not going to be sour. I do have problems but I have trouble distinguishing whether they're formed in my head or outside sources.

I'm not saying I'm doing it just to surpass daddio's height, but there does seem to be a pattern when 5'11 guys here want LL because their dads are 2 inches taller. I was being objective there, not subjective(about my own experience).

As for women, I have dated about the average amount kids my age must have. If I wasn't as introverted I'm sure I'd have dated more. Of course when you're taller you can date even more lol and I haven't had problems for the MOST part.

Mate, get LL and rid yourself of that height annoyance you have, but realize that there are other things in life to enjoy too. If being short is the only thing that defines you, you really don't have a personality. What I mean is you're suppressing your personality that isn't associated with your height, to yourself.

EDIT: As for my mental capability, I'm sure I have it in abundance. And even if I didn't I'd still do LL without thinking twice, which itself means I have the fortitude.

My lowest height is about 179.5cm and my best height is 181cm. This will sound crazy to you but i am one of the shortest guys at college and was shortest at my class at high school . Average height for Dinaric Alps is about 185.5cm so with 5.5cm i will be average. That is my main reason for considering LL.

There no need for us to justify our desire to be taller to the forum, by the way. The members of this forum should help inform one another about the nature of LL, various doctors, and procedural variations, as well as support those who decide to go through with it. We aren't here to say who is or isn't worthy or justified in taking action to appease their desires to be taller, regardless of what their starting height or motivation may be. Bottom line is if you're willing to break your legs, endure lots of pain, risk disability, invest lots of time and money, and lose some athletic ability to be taller, then you deserve the procedure regardless of what your current height is.

I've been posting on this site less lately because of a new job I just got. Not only am I more busy, but low and behold I am one of the tallest guys in the company(though it is a small company). Plenty of guys around my height, but i'm not getting towered on a daily basis. This unique environment has definitely affected my height neurosis positively, and I rarely stress over my height nowadays. Definitely anecdotal evidence of environment being the most important here, which is why suggestions for shorter guys to move countries should be taken more seriously.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still haunted by getting towered by my father, being an inch taller than my mother, and seeing eye to eye with my sister. But right now I'll just enjoy life and see what the future holds, the amount of money i'm saving each month makes LL more than just a pipe dream.

Even if I ultimately decide against LL I enjoy reading the diaries and discussions here, so I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Very inspiring Penguinn.. You've definitely gained my respect after such a comment.

The idea that taller guys are more successful with women than shorter guys... It's all in your head. If you all embodied the same attitude as Penguinn your success with women would get much better. It isn't about how you look, it's how you see yourself, which is in your head... Which you can change without limb lengthening. I'm 168cm/5'6. When I was single, most of the girls that I was seeing were about 5'8. Now obviously I wouldn't go for a girl who was extremely taller than me, but that was a choice I made. If you put yourself out there, practice putting yourself out of your comfort zone, become comfortable with who you are in any situation, women always respond positively to that.

If you're tall and have the same negative attitude, then your results will be the same with women no matter how tall you are.. So while you get your lengthening done focus on a better mental state as well.

You flatter me. :-* lol

When it comes to dating, I think it's halfway there. Your appearance does matter but people act like nothing else does. As in.. at 5'2 I could date girls till say, 5'4(and there are definitely some that'd not to date a shorter fella) but dating a 5'7 girl would be absurd looking.

tl;dr
I think if you aren't getting crap done at 5'10 you probably won't at 6'1. But you don't have to consider my opinion if you strongly feel otherwise.

EDIT: ESPECIALLY if you're the type of person to blame something else for your 'shortcomings'(no pun intended :D). If you're 5'11 and blaming LL for everything going wrong with your life, you'll latch onto something else to blame after you grow those inches. This isn't in any way to discourage people about LL, in fact I encourage it to most, this is just about the attitude. Trynna help.

163cm live in New York City and life blows. Everyone is always looking down on me because I'm short. Only looking to lengthen 6-7. I'll be extremely happy at 5'6".

My biggest problem is attention I'm a very good looking guy but girls or just people in general look at my different because of my height. It's very depressing we all want to feel wanted.
