How and when did you schedule your LL procedure?
« on: September 09, 2015, 04:18:14 AM »

Hey fellas! Got a few questions here. How did you guys fit LL into your life's timeline schedule? At what juncture in your life did you decide you were gonna do LL and how did you execute your strategy plan?
Did you wait until you finished school (college, grad school) and saved up after finding work in your related fields? Or did you somehow find a means of getting the money for LL before? It seems the majority of people who have a smoother transition from pre-LL and post-LL (money, time off work, concealing LL from colleagues etc.) are self-employed. Any feedback would be appreciated fellas. Thanks guys!

I'm doing it after 12th and getting a year's break from education before what you'd call 'college' in 'Murica.
I wanted a gap year anyway. It fits well into my schedule.

I'm kinda torn between either:
1) finish my bachelor's degree then save $$$ from work then proceed with LL (will be  extremely tough as ,ideally, I'd like to have LL with Guichet so $85-95,000 US is needed

Like Taller asked, what are the other options?

I would tell everyone who wants LL to get it asap. Enjoy the height boost at a younger age. But if you don't have the money and don't want to compromise your 'ideal' surgery, save up. But there are good doctors doing internals for about half of Paley and the other superstar doctors' prices.

Hey Taller! Ideally it would be the option that is safest and least time consuming which is probably internal femurs with either the precise or guichet nail. I am baffled how a lot of you younger guys in your early to mid twenties were able to afford top notch LL doctors like Paley  or Guichet as the costs easily run you just under $100,000 US. I just finished my twenties and still don't command that kind of $ or equity lol. I am majoring in Law btw

What a dilemma.. I could use this money to start a business, improve my professional life or I could do a cheap LL and enjoy the benefits of being taller while I'm still young.

Yup, it's expensive. But at the same time if you really are considering this surgery you should always worry about money near last as your health and your manner of living will be more important in the long run. This is why Paley is heavily considering one of the best. Even if people are distrustin of Dr. M for his manner of marketing LL he's still a good doctor that I'd doubt would let your process be screwed up (he's in the US where   counts).

LOT of doctors offer surgery through Precice.
Dr. Parihar and Dr. Shah in India, according to my knowledge. You should do some research.
