It's a best case scenario.
May be you're right. I've read people on old forum mention it shouldn't too tough walking unaided 3.5 Months at 5 CM.
So I just thought of undergoing another surgery 3 to 3.5 Months after initial surgery. 1 year is too much.
It's 100% unrealistic. 6 months after my initial surgery, after lengthening just 7.5cm on one segment, was when I STARTED using crutches.
While I may be ambitious but your timeline isn't exactly standard either, especially for internals.
Besides 7.5 CM on tibia isn't 'just 7.5 CM'. There's 33% difference in 5 CM and 7.5 CM.
I totally understand that you want to be finished as fast as possible. And you dont want 20 cm or something. Only 5 cm and then another 6 cm. So your goals are fine. Just your timeframe is hard to do in real life.
You are not the first guy and you will not be the last guy who comes up with some unrealistic timeframe. At the latest when you actually really do it you will see how difficult it is and how long consolidation really takes.
I wish for you that it works out like the way you planned. And you can listen to me and others who tell you that it is not possible to do it like this or not. I just want to help you by telling you that your goals are fine but you should plan more time for that.
You know that I have been through LL by doing LATN. I know that you will do internals and you will do it with top doctors and that is a very good choice by the way. If you really insist on doing tibias and femurs almost parallel then at least take one year time to do this. If you can walk fine one year after your first surgery then you have managed something extraordinary. That would be a great achievement! Just remember that consolidation takes a lot of time. You can still do it the way you planned just be prepared that it could take longer than 6-7 months. Double the time and you have what I would estimate it will take.
Good luck on your journey!
Don't ya think a year is a bit too much to lengthen 11 CM only?
Barring any complications, I'd say 8 Months at most. It's not like I'm talking about running or walking perfectly.
I'm self-employed - I've some new projects to take on, LL is the only thing holding me back.
