Planning to get LL in the future
« on: August 08, 2015, 05:28:45 AM »

Hey everybody! I'm kind of new here. I've been a lurker since 2014, so I guess a bit less than a year. :D

Anyways, I've finally decided to get LL, maybe 2 surgeries. I just turned 18 and I know that I would be happier near the average, where now I'm 10cm below average.

My budget is 30K to 50K. If I work hard, I could earn $4,000 to $6,000 a month, so saving up money shouldn't take too long. Maybe 4 years?

I'm excited, but kind of scared... Will the pain be unbearable? The worst pain I had was probably me being poisoned. (not a good feeling lol) If internals are more comfortable, then I'll be getting them.

I'm kind of athletic, but I think I should be prepping several years before the surgery so my muscles wouldn't go though too much stress. No way I'm doing LL in USA. It's too expensive... I'm not sure which country I should do this in, but I have friends in Seoul that could help me with housing.

Here's some stats:

Age: 18
Height: 165cm
Wing Span: 169cm
Goal: 172cm

I could do 2 surgeries (6.5cm each) and go to 178cm, would it look weird?

you are in same boat a me, you sure male average is 175 where you live, as UK/US is 177.5

anyway yeah that's a bit much given your wingspan, probably best dialing it back to 175 as your goal height.

my wingspan is 167 and i think 174 would be my maximum height, that's 7cm+ wingspan.

13cms might make your legs look disproportionate, unless you have a longer torso and short legs. You could do 7 or 8cm with internals (Precice nails) which is what I'm planning on getting.

You should take this one step at a time. Get the first surgery and gauge what your body can handle from there. Also what job does an 18 year old do making 4000-6000 a month?

I'm a designer. I usually make nearly $2500 a month depending on how many clients I have.

My legs are short, so I don't think it'll be too disproportionate. So I guess my goal height should be 177cm doing 6cm each?

Also is getting this surgery done in Korea expensive? What places do you recommend me?

I had almost no pain as long as I was lying still; maybe a dull ache sometimes on the days I was lengthening a lot.

Moving was really bad though, with sharp pains in my knees, ankles, and feet.

From what I've read, Dr. Guichet seems like the best option.  His technology is fully weight-bearing, and his patients don't have many complications.
